Had the charm of an historical state park lodge. Location was superb. Walk right out the door and take a hike or two or six. Some to beautiful locations within the Daniel Boone Forest and including Cumblerand Falls.
Some of the facilities are dated, and there is a plan for an update to the lodge rooms. However, I also feel that the dining room needs nicer tables or tableclothes at least (the veneer has come off in so many spots), and some of the signage were scribbled notes, which looks tacky.
OVERALL, WE LOVED OUR STAY, the food was great, and we look forward to returning.
