Modernised 18th Century Riverside Farmhouse with Private Spa & Wellness Retreat

Welcome to Our Beautifully Modernised !8th Century Riverside Farmhouse on the Charente - Dordogne border in south West France. Set Beside the gentle river Nizonne with miles of walks from the door, the house offers a peaceful countryside escape while being close to local villages, restaurants and amenities.

Recently renovated with a relaxed shabby-chic feel, the property stays naturally cool in summer thanks to 1m-thick stone walls, working shutters and ceiling fans in every bedroom.

Please bring your own towels.

A private spa is available by special request. This includes access to the float tank, steam room and hydrotherapy bath, and must be booked with a spa manager to ensure correct operation. Optional add-ons such as massage, yoga and relaxation sessions are also available. (You may search WellbeingFrance for more information.)
There is an additional charge of 400 euros for the spa manager for a 6 hour window of your choice each day either mornings afternoons or evenings. Included will be full use of the spa, head and foot massages, along with yoga sessions during that period.

The area offers plenty to explore within a short drive: kayaking, caving, River Boat cruises, lakes, hiking, cycling routes, medieval towns, vineyards, Cognac, Golf Courses fine dining, night markets, and even one of Europe's top go-karting tracks.

Parfait pour des vacances avec un grand groupe. La maison est grande, il y a des espaces pour chacun.Il y’a tout l’équipement nécessaire et plus autant pour la cuisine que pour les loisirs. La piscine est petite mais largement suffisante. Cerise sur le gâteau la maison est fraîche.

Maison spacieuse (nous étions 4 adultes, 2 adolescents et un jeune enfant), piscine de taille très suffisante pour se rafraîchir avec les enfants, barbecue très efficace, jardin agréable et spacieux. John est très sympathique et disponible, et l'emplacement offre de nombreuses activités touristiques et sportives. Un bémol sur la propreté qui doit être améliorée (tiroirs de vaisselle, poussière, objets divers sous le canapé et les lits) ainsi que pour la précision de l'annonce qui faisait figurer le linge de toilette et le savon qui ne sont en fait pas fournis. Nous avons passé 10 jours très agréables dans la maison de John, que nous recommandons sans réserve pour des vacances familiales.

Vacances sympathiques loin de la foule

Tres jolie et grande maison, beaucoup d’activités et visites à faire dans ce coin de France peu prisé par les touristes. Une petit bémol sur la propreté (par exemple mégots de cigarettes laissés par les précédents locataires partout dans l’allée, et nettoyage général un peu succinct à mon goût), l’endroit est assez paumé mais il y a du passage sur la route et les chambres donnent toutes coté rue, à prendre en compte pour les personnes ayant le sommeil léger. La gentillesse et la disponibilité de l’hôte et de “son équipe” sur place ont permis d’oublier ces points négatifs. Merci, nous avons passé une excellente semaine.

Séjour en famille très agréable, la grandeur des chambres permet à chacun son espace, et le grand salon des soirées pour nous retrouver. Genieten van rust en natuur

Ideale woning om te genieten van de rustige omgeving, daguitstappen te doen naar Angoulème, Brantome, Aubeterre en anderen. Lekkere restaurants dichtbij. Goed bereikbaar. Woning zelf is ruim, ideaal om er met meerdere kleine kinderen naartoe te gaan en toch te kunnen uitslapen. John vlot bereikbaar en steeds paraat met tips. Een aanrader!

Un havre de paix

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette belle ferme restaurée. L’équipement est top et la literie excellente. La proximité des commerces est un vrai plus. Un endroit idéal pour se retrouver en famille ou entre amis. Il fait bon se reposer dans cet endroit bucolique et s’enrichir de ses fabuleux environs.
