The Space:
Makowata Farm by Tiny Away is countryside bliss in the rural town of Lowmead, just 15 minutes from Miriam Vale and 10 km off the main road heading to the popular coastal destinations of Agnes Water and 1770. The farm stay sits beneath a large ornamental fig tree, providing cool shade and comfort through the warmer months of the subtropical climate.

Nearby attractions include Chinamans Beach, Deepwater National Park, Turkey Beach, Rules Beach, and the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.

This cozy 139-square-foot tiny home features easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the tiny home and most of the surrounding area, except our private main home. Shared areas include the garden, backyard, laundry washer, and a second toilet located in a nearby shed.

Our property is a small working farm, and you're welcome to explore. Please chat with us first before walking around, as there are roaming animals and cattle that can kick.

The Neighborhood:
Makowata Farm by Tiny Away is surrounded by larger farms, and we have a great relationship with our neighbors. Our farm stay is a perfect base to explore nearby seaside towns like Agnes Waters and 1770, both known for their charming beaches.

Local highlights include the quiet Chinamans Beach, the natural beauty of Deepwater National Park, the fishing village of Turkey Beach, and the long, peaceful Rules Beach. You can also visit Bundaberg Botanic Gardens with its thousands of trees and shrubs, or enjoy a meal at the family-run Agnes Water Tavern.

Getting Around:
By car:

- From Gladstone city, it’s a 1 hour and 30 minute drive. (80 kms)
- Miriam Vale is the nearest town and is a 15 minute drive away.
- Reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.

By public transport

- Train goes to our nearest town (Miriam Vale) everyday. There is no public transport to our place 15 minutes away.

Other Things to Note:
- Free potable water
- Wifi is not available
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- A second toilet is located near the house
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is permitted outside, not close to any buildings.
- Expect limited connectivity as the tiny home is set in a rural locality
- Full Farm Guidelines will be sent before your stay – please ensure you follow them
- Mobile reception is weak for Vodafone, Telstra and Optus; the rest have no signal
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows, and lock doors when leaving
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Pets are allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival.

Important note:

- BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
