I didn't actually stay there,we looked at the room and it smelled bad,location felt unsafe, i had booked online, but was early enough to cancel the reservation, i personally wouldn't stay there,it gave me an unsafe feeling.

I used to stay at the La Quinta a lot several years ago and this hotel was very nice. This time around the room had a lot of wear and tear. The furniture was pretty dinged up and the door frames had chipped paint and needed to be repainted. Wallpaper had bubbled up and needed to be redone. The finish was coming off the bathroom door. It looks like some one locked their dog in the bathroom and they scratched the finish off the lower part of the door. There is no maid service unless you request it. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was so disappointed in the condition of the room.

While the overall appearance is not bad, the upkeep and maintenance of the rooms and property are not up to par. The drywall in the dining area needs attention and repair, missing baseboard in one of the room's bathroom as well as drywall in the same room. In another room, the bathroom had drywall issues and underneath the desk had carpet that was frayed and not tucked in properly. Lightbulbs were out in 3 fixtures! Also, in both rooms, WIPE DOWN THE BATHROOM DOOR! Just overall bathroom cleanliness like wiping the flior corners and top edge of baseboards! Makes you cringe. Just showed lack of attention and upkeep. There were a lot more things but this was general observations. Check-in staff was not a friendly person. Checking out was 2 people who would rather talk to each other than thank the guest for choosing La Quinta or just ask general questions like any customer based business would.

This location had a comfortable bed, was clean, offered a very nice sized fridge, and the breakfast options were tasty. The room and building had multiple places in need of minor repair. The baseboards were missing or the wall was dented in. Nothing that took away from cleanliness or comfort. These were minor eyesores. The police racing through the hotel with tasers drawn at 6:30 morning was quite jarring. The police presence was still there at 8:30 when we left for the day. There is a significant homeless population near the hotel. To be fair, this is true for much of Colorado Springs. I might stay here again but I would make sure I was being safe if traveling alone. This property was less expensive than most others online.
