The front staff was very nice. There was a nice spread for breakfast, but it was more meat and cheese then it was traditional breakfast foods. There were other noisy guests, but that’s not the fault of the hotel.

There was some construction right in front of the hotel which limited the entrance access and created some noise in the morning if you wanted to sleep in. The hotel was in excellent condition, clean and the staff was very friendly. It is located in an ideal location; next to the Train Station, the Dam and the shopping and dining area in the old town.

Not the Ritz but perhaps more enjoyable.

Great breakfast. Nicely located. Nicely priced. Unlike what previous reviewers said, wifi service was flawless. Great service. Private entrance. No unnecesary fuss. Only the bathroom and shower were just a bit too small. But I would go back anytime. Felt like my own little apartment away.

I like it.

We enjoyed our stay at City Hotel Koln. The management were friendly, the breakfasts were tasty, room service was fine, and security was great. What more do you want? If visiting Koln again, I will stay there again.

Simple but comfortable hotel

Stayed only one night. Good little hotel located in a very quiet street. 5 minutes from malls and 20 minutes from Central Station. The rooms are very clean. Hotel recommended, good value for money.

Good accommodation for the price I paid. But not all rooms have wifi, so make sure that you check when you book or check-in. Some rooms allow smoking so, again, you may want to specify a non-smoking room.

Had a two night stay. The breakfast was good - range of cheeses, fresh fruit/veg, cereals, boiled eggs, meats etc. Nice that breakfast is served for a good period of time each morning so suits those up early and those wanting a bit of a later start. Staff were polite and helpful. Would stay here again.

Good hotel in good location.

Enjoyed Cologne once we found our bearings. City map has too much information & difficult to follow. Good modern European city with modern facilities. Vegetarians will have no problem in finding a good range of restaurants, cafes & pubs. Quirky, friendly & fun.

Quiet clean hotel

Pleasant hotel, clean and modern rooms in a quite neighborhood. Near the Neumarkt and transportation. Nice breakfast buffet, with good quality and variety.

Good place for tourist, but not for business.

The staff was very helpful, but the internet access was unstable and I couldn't get much work done. But if the purpose is to relax, this could be a good place to stay.

Comfortable stay

We had some trouble locating the hotel; it is not particularly close to the nearest U-bahn station. We were greeted upon arrival, however, by a very friendly man who let us check in early. The hotel does not have an elevator. The windows in the room open fully but do not stay open well and you have to move the furniture around to accomodate the windows. The bed was comfortable. The wifi was fast and free. The bathroom/shower is small, even by European standards. Breakfast was included, and adequate.

Great location

Not a bad little hotel in a great location with everything in th city being within easy walking distance. A little rough around the edges (could use a lick of paint, tiles in the bathroom loose), but for the location it was a great deal and of the sort of standard I expected for the money. The breakfast buffet is great. Some staff really friendly and helpful, others less so. OverAll, I would stay again.

15' from old city center ; 5' from the metro and tramway. Personal is very kind. quite place. Negative points: No WC in each room. The matress of my bed was worn and not so confortable.

Small hotel in perfect location for sight-seeing or business. Very close to public transit as well as shopping (pedestrian zone). Freindly and helpful staff. Breakfast included which makes it extra convenient.

A warm and welcoming visit to Cologne

It was a delight to stay in this hotel. The service was extremely friendly and helpful and it was immaculately clean. The room was far nicer than I had expected from the pictures and it is in a great location next to Neumarkt just a few minutes walk from the U-Bahn and an easy walk into the Altstadt. The hotel bar is also cosy and welcoming. Breakfast was German style with a good selection of meats and cheeses and different breads.

Lovely room

Lovely room with doors opening onto a roof area. The adjoining ensuite included a bath which was great. No tissues provided, but otherwise all of our comforts were taken care of.
