It is a real castle that you stay like in middle age but with modern comfort e.g. villeroy & boch dinning wears, heated towel bar ... The restaurant and rooms have good view. The breakfast are excellent. They pay a lot of attention to details, even to the boiled eggs - 5 minutes and keep them warm in a blanket wrapped basket. Extraordinary experience.

A very picturesque and interesting hotel. Even has a deer herd living on the surrounding land. The single rooms were not very big, but adequate. The restaurant was closed at the time, had been closed for the summer, but was reopening in a few days. There was a very good Gasthof just down the road, easy walking distance, with other choices in town.

Romantic Lady of the Manor opportunity

Amazing, atmospheric place. Beautifully laid out to keep the feel of a fortified manor. My only disappointment was the bed. My room had two singles pushed together, which is fairly normal in Germany. However these were two narrow wooden beds, with the frames higher than the mattress. Whilst the style was in keeping with the room, the actual sleeping space was limited, and I kept kicking the frame during the night. Mattress was comfortable though.

The Colmberg Castle provides a unique experience with exceptional staff and lots of histiry and decor to enjoy. We stayed with teenagers but the castle provides a wonderful play area for younger guests.

Very interesting place. First time in a castle for us. :-). Best to have a car to get around the rural area. We enjoyed driving to Rothenburg medieval town. The quiet evenings were appreciated after the hectic city days we had on our vacation. Food was excellent.

Great value, if you want to experience living in the old castle. Mysterious outside and inside, castle itself is kept very well. Bathroom in our room was a bit outdated. A bit noisy - probably thin walls between rooms. Dinner was good but overpriced, there is opportunity to stage it more upscale, especially service. A very high turnover of guests, so low attention from management. Overall great experience for the price that we paid.

Super cool castle!!

Stay here! It's a castle! It's unique and quaint. The rooms are comfortable. The view is amazing. The property has reindeer which is also super cool. Breakfast was great too. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant but it looked popular. Staff is friendly also. Only a 15 minute ride to Rothenberg ob da tauber. I would stay again if I ever come back!

Staying at Burg Colmburg was such a treat for my husband and I. We were greeted warmly by staff and instantly felt welcomed. The castle is completely open for your viewing pleasure and exploration! We chose to stay in a historic room and found it to be spacious and comfortable, while still having all necessary amenities. We enjoyed walking around the grounds, watching the deer and eating a delicious meal in the restaurant. The venison goulash was delicious! Breakfast was a wonderful buffet of meats, breads and cheese. Such a great experience, getting to stay in a real castle!! We loved every minute of it.
