Fresh breakfast, excellent staff! Good location on the edge of the town and lots of places to cycle to, including Puzzlewood which was the main reason for our stay. But there was a mechanical banging noise (like a shoe in a tumble dryer!) from 3.30am both nights we stayed that kept me awake. The whole experience was very 'meh' and we wouldn't recommend unless you are playing golf there.

The hotel was well located for the wedding we attended at clearwell castle and was a good price for the area. However, the whole building suffers from creaky floorboards which make an absolute racket anytime anybody moves, which means once somebody decides to be up, there is no more sleep for you. The beds are also quite hard and the rooms were stuffy with no fans provided. I also thought the bathroom could have benefitted from a deep clean. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn’t go back.

Got a really good price on a room with a gym on site. There was decent parking available and I got parked up near the entrance. I had a room on the ground floor which was close to the gym as well as the entrance. The room was pretty standard but what was required for me. I got shown to the gym which had new equipment and had plenty to choose from. I was then told it was an extra £5 to use it which would have been nice to know as part of booking the stay. I had a great workout at the gym then went out for an evening meal. A good night's sleep was followed by a breakfast buffet at the clubhouse which was decent. It may have not been the greatest accommodation experience but it did represent tremendous value for money and I would look to stay here again based on that.
