The motel was just average, but when you look at the town of Clayton, NM, you can see why. The town is very small (like 1 stop light), so that says it all. Still, I was happy that I stayed there. The room was clean, the bathroom was larger than usual rooms that size, and it was quiet. I recommend it as I would stay there again.

Rooms were in need of much repairs. One of the rooms, the door would only close if you lifted up and slammed it. Beds appeared to be clean and were comfortable. Breakfast was a joke cereal and waffles.

I was worried based on the previous reviews. But my experience was very good. The check in was great. I was asked about my room preference. This is very convenient. It is an older property so there were some maintenance issues but nothing that was horrible. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. The only complaint is there was no coffee at breakfast. The coffee maker was in the room. Just a minor inconvenience. Overall I would stay there again.

Stained sheets, cold floor and room, and noisy side door to building, so don't take a room at the end of the hall on the first floor. Staff not around in the morning, had to call them to come to the hotel for assistance. They were kind enough to take my freezer pack into their staff freezer though so it was frozen for the morning. Breakfast is small, but good.

The front desk girl gave the run down of my stay super fast and it wasnt busy in the lobby. She jad time to take a breathe and speak slower. The toilet was stopped up the next morning and it wasnt from toilet paper. The beds in 105 are absolutely the most uncomfortable beds that we ever slept in. The window was also broken. There was a whole just right thru it. I never ever want that room again. Our previous stay was awesome. Different room same staff good sleep. Holeless windows. It was just great.

This was jus advertised enjoyed visiting with the owner and a tour of the property upon arrival . If you like historic places this is for you! Very comfortable we slept better here than anywhere on our trip. Will definitely stay here on our next trip!!

There is not much around the hotel as it is on the way out of town, but the Mexican place across the parking lot serves up good food (more than I could eat). It is a place to get a shower & bed before moving on.
