Our ideal location sets you loose in North Routt’s wild playground. We are surrounded by state parks and Routt National Forest. Trek East to the 160,000-acre Mt. Zirkel Wilderness with its specular peaks and majestic forests.

Trek or bike alpine trails, cast into hidden lakes, or skim the water on paddleboards, kayaks, and pontoon boats. Enjoy stunning views on the nearby Hahn’s Peak Trail, the famed Zirkel Circle Trail, or any of the dozens of nearby hiking, biking, ATV, and sledding trails.

For a more relaxed pace, stroll through the historic mining village or visit the Hahn’s Museum, the historic school house, and the Wither Cabin–all a short walk from the Lodge.

Settle in with every comfort of home: our fully equipped kitchen lets you cook your catch of the day, while in‑suite laundry keeps gear fresh for tomorrow’s outing.

After a day on the trails, soak sore muscles in the outdoor hot tub, then fire up the BBQ grill for an al‑fresco feast beneath the pines. As dusk settles, gather around the fire pit to swap stories under a canopy of stars.

Easy living extends to hassle‑free details: free guest parking means you can arrive and explore at your own pace, while every amenity is designed to let you focus on making memories, not logistics.

We are so grateful to have found such a beautiful, accommodating lodge for our family gathering. Private rooms, huge common area, plenty of deck space, and an all you need kitchen. Our family loved being able to hike around Steamboat with trail access right across the road. Everyone in our party wanted to book our next trip here. Thanks for making our family retreat a success.

Annual Getaway

Great property, parking a bit tight, glad they had reserved area. All the bedrooms and entire lodge very clean and well kept. Needed some propane for the grill on the deck. Kat was able to arrange it in 5 minuets. Awesome management and property. Thanks for having it available to rent.

Great Mountain Retreat

We had a group of 20 that stayed at the facility over New Year’s. The Lodge is set up very nicely with 8 bedrooms which each have their own private bath. Very nice when you have a lot of people. The lodge has a great family room with plenty of seating and a large dining room table. Kitchen is well stocked with anything you may need to prep food. The best part is the owners are great and happy to assist you with anything you may need during your stay. I would highly recommend to lodge as there are so many things to do in this area.

Excellent stay!

We were a group of 13 guys and we had a great time. There are 8 bedrooms + 1 futon on the loft. 8 full bathroom + 2 half baths. Clean property, lots of space in the common areas, well maintained. The kitchen is very well equipped with pretty much anything one would need. Communication with the hosts was very prompt. Would love to stay here again if we come back.

Perfect in every way

This was the perfect venue and setting for us to get together with several life-long friends. The cozy couches in the “great room” provided ample opportunity to reminisce and discuss our lives, the hot tub was a relaxing communal magnet for all who cared to join, and the separate rooms with comfortable beds and private bathrooms made slipping away easy. While we ate one delicious meal at the Tavern sitting outside around the gas-fed fire pit, we each chipped in to prepare our own meals in the kitchen and ate together at the large communal table. Star-gazing at night was phenomenal and day trips to Hahns Peak Lake, to Pearl Lake and to hike to the top of Hahns Peak were all convenient activities we were able to enjoy. To top it off, the weather was delightful as the fall colors were just beginning to peak with a healthy mixture of green, chartreuse, orange and bright red. Our hosts communicated well and made the entire visit easy and memorable as each one in our part constantly commented on what a special time we were able to enjoy in an atmosphere conducive to connection with each other and with nature. It was perfect, in every way.

perfect for our family reunion

We really enjoyed our weekend at Steamboat Lake Lodge. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and it's wonderful that each has a private bath. The space, including the outside deck and the big central room were perfect for visiting while allowing space for individual private conversations. The convenience of the onsite restaurant made dinner easy and the staff was very kind and accommodating. There were just a couple of problems. One of the bedrooms didn't have a screen and the occupants didn't feel like they could open the windows. The oven didn't work which was a little inconvenient though we were able to briefly borrow the oven in the restaurant. We also had a little trouble with the noise from below, particularly the night of the live band. You might include in your literature that the onsite restaurant is actually below the lodgings and with that comes some noise. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. I appreciate the way you handled the reservation changes and payments ahead of time. Thanks for everything!
