We have travelled across Spain and Portugal and this hotel and the town is an absolute gem. Fabulous recently renovated room with superb bed, crisp fresh linen and the best pillows. Superb shower and double basins. Kettle and coffee maker which was an unexpected bonus. Beautiful hotel and lovely garden terrace by the river for drinks outside. Highly recommended!!!

A bit of a disappointment, having just stayed at the brilliant Parador de Baiona. This is a very small and poorly staffed Parador, where despite having international guests, they do not serve tea at breakfast and you have to ask for everything, you cannot access much of the castle and they put you in rooms without a view when only a few of the 34 rooms are occupied - not much incentive to return?! Cuidad Rosrigo itself is a lovely little town!

Loved our stay, very charming and unique. Only thing that could have been better is a/c in the room at night, an iron in the room. Also a bit of misconception about the room having a balcony, apparently only 4 have them and it’s first come first serve
