Welcome to Buckin' Duck Ranch!

My husband and I had this cozy 700-square-foot home built with the intention of eventually having a place for an aging parent to live close to us. Until that time comes, we're excited to share it with guests who want to enjoy a little peace, quiet, and country living!

Whether you're looking for a relaxing getaway, a little fishing, or simply a chance to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of farm life, we hope you'll feel right at home at Buckin' Duck Ranch! Just minutes from Randolph AFB, downtown Cibolo and all the city comforts, but yet country enough to enjoy the quiet outdoors.

Life on the Farm

Our property is home to Silkie chickens, beautiful Sebastopol geese, domestic ducks, and rare Dutch Hookbill ducks. We also have plans to expand our little farm family with additional animals in late 2027!

You'll likely get to meet some of our feathered residents during your stay! Our domestic ducks and Sebastopol geese love swimming in the pond and frequently wander up toward the house hoping someone might have a snack for them.

Our Sebastopol geese and Dutch Hookbill ducks are particularly special. Both are rare heritage breeds with conservation concerns, so this is a wonderful opportunity to see animals you don't often encounter!

We love sharing our little farm with others and hope you'll enjoy watching the animals as much as we do.

Relax and Unwind by the Pond

One of our favorite places on the property is the patio overlooking the pond! We've included a propane-fueled fire pit that's ready for you to enjoy. Settle in, relax by the fire, and watch the ducks and geese swim across the pond, or simply enjoy the peaceful sounds of the frogs and the gentle flow of the pond fountain.

In the evening, the pond fountain and lights create a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Both operate on automatic timers and will turn off at 10 p.m. We kindly ask that you not adjust the timers or controls and simply allow them to shut off automatically.

For those who love a traditional campfire, we also have a separate outdoor wood-burning fire pit stocked with firewood for your use. It's the perfect spot to gather, enjoy the fresh country air, and unwind under the stars!

Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee while watching our feathered friends or spending a quiet evening around the fire, we hope you'll find plenty of opportunities to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of country living.

Fishing at the Pond

We invite you to enjoy some relaxing time fishing from our dock! Our pond is stocked with fish, and we've provided fishing poles and tackle for your use.

If you'd prefer to use live bait, we've included information in the guest guidebook about where you can purchase it locally.

Please remember that our pond is catch and release only, so all fish must be returned to the water.

Whether you're an experienced angler or just want to cast a line and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, we hope you'll take advantage of this little piece of country life!

Sleeping Arrangements & Home Amenities

Although our little home is just 700 square feet, we've made every effort to create a comfortable and welcoming space that can accommodate up to six guests.

Primary Bedroom: Queen-size bed

Second Bedroom: Full-size (double) bed

Living Room: Queen-size memory foam sleeper sofa

Dining Options

Because this is a cozy home, we don't have a traditional indoor dining table. However, we've gotten creative with the space!

The living room coffee table lifts up to create a dining surface, and we've tucked bar stools underneath it so you can pull them out and enjoy a meal.

We will be adding an outdoor dining area on the porch to match to our BBQ grill already provided.

Laundry & Kitchen Amenities

The home includes a combination washer and dryer for your convenience. Instructions for operating the machine are included in the guest guidebook you'll find inside the home.

Please note that the kitchen does not have a dishwasher.

We've worked hard to make this little home comfortable, cozy, and inviting while maintaining the charm of a country retreat.

A Little About Country Living

One of the things we love most about our property is that it's a real, working farm!

During your stay, you may see us out feeding animals, working on the property, maintaining the pond, or tending to other chores. You might also see our tractor or Polaris passing by, or occasionally see us burning fallen limbs as part of our property maintenance.

Country living also comes with a few things you won't find at a typical hotel! Our property has uneven and sometimes bumpy terrain, fallen branches, tree stumps, insects, frogs, and other wildlife that are simply part of life in the country.

We ask that you watch your step, use caution while exploring, and enjoy the natural surroundings.

We do our best to maintain the property, but please remember that this is a working farm, and nature doesn't always cooperate with our plans!
