I've been stayed many Haka House during this South Island trip.
Every branches are clean and safety.
I have nothing anxious about their branch, and here was especially located convenient place. I love it!
Bus stop to and from airport is convenient. Parking is a problem as street parking is costly (from 9;am -6:pm) and hard to get (120min). Close to shopping and restaurant area. No table or chairs in the King ensuit room. Cooking utensils are fully equipped. Sound proof need improvement as the noise made by opening and closing doors, and dragging luggage up and down the stairs could be heard clearly while in bed made you realize you are staying in a hostel. Happened to have young people fooling around outside the hostel in the middle of the nite.
Awesome place to stay dnt think i can add anything else

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
One of the front desk staff members did not answer my questions, even though the screen indicated we could approach them to book activities. The same employee was also unable to explain how the laundromat worked. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable. The common areas are practical and well equipped for cooking, including spices and other products left behind by fellow travelers.
This was a great place to stay, close to the arts centre of Christchurch and good clean rooms. Only issue was the cleaning of the bathrooms at 8am in the morning - a time when I think people would be using them. I think it would be better to do this after check out time.
How could this hostel be rated 9.2 when the doors are slammed nonstop, the washrooms are pretended to be cleaned and there's NO A/C nor a Fan at least in the rooms. How can you sleep in a furnace, in a Sauna? Fans are supplied in the private rooms only. Are we non human beings? Staff are nice; beds noisy.
