Very pleasantly surprised. There are bits they need to address, the lift needs fixing, 2 floors carrying luggage isn't great. The landing corridor is an awful colour it looks shabby, but once in my room I was delighted. Comfy bed, well fitted bathroom.

The problem with this place is it describes itself as luxury when at most all it really does is have larger rooms than a basic budget hotel. The rooms are big, but theres no luxury. Theres barely enough furnishings in the room to make acceptable never mind 'luxury'. Theres no love in the rooms, they feel the same as student accomadtion, it will do. Not as described at all. The bed was so bad that in the end I chose to leave, after only an hour of checking in. I didn't get a refund because I used vouchers, so beware if you buy through a 3rd party and have any issues you want refunding on. The positive was the bathroom, that was nice, very clean with a fantastic shower and jet bath. The spa was, ok, not great, the changing rooms were mouldy and half the stalls don't close or lock. The jacuzzi wasnt working during our visit. In the spa, the staff were not professional. Waiting for our massage treatments, the staff stood discussing shifts and the therapist we were waiting 10 mins past our booking time was there chatting away. Staff throughout the whole spa seemed slow and just unsure of how to respond to anything. Honestly, this was meant to be a nice relaxing birrhday treat and it just left me feeling miffed and like I wasted time and money. I genuinely would never visit this place again nor would I recommend it.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the hotel lobby, rooms and restaurants. It was just soured a little when we found out we had to pay to use the swimming pool, which wasn't clear. Swimming pool is free if you book directly with the hotel.

Where to start!! Having arrived after dark and driving through the grounds you’d easily be mistaken for thinking you had entered some apocalyptic event with the haunted remains of the old Camelot theme park still very much present. I get that it’s a big site with investment being made, but surely the owners should be making sure the guests initial approach is made far more welcoming. The reception of the hotel was however a pleasant surprise and has been done up to a fairly decent standard, although freezing cold, something they were clearly aware of as temporary heaters appeared on our 2nd day. The staff were very polite, friendly and hospitable. Most were clearly aware of the challenges this hotel faced and were very apologetic for some of its failings. We were staying in one of the two bedroom apartments. Having been directed to drive around to car park 6, clearly still part of the theme park era, bouncing through crater sized potholes in the pitch black with no lighting and very limited signage (be careful and drive slowly or face a huge repair bill for your vehicle) we arrived at the cottages. From the outside they looked very dated and tired, but once inside I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, tidy and warm it was. It is such a shame that management/owners just don’t appear to notice the rubbish littered around the entire site, such an easy fix but clearly a big oversight. Having arrived late on our first night we decided on a meal in the hotel restaurant.
Litter literally everywhere, this was next to our cottage and was like it for our entire 5 day stay.
Very industrial in appearance.
Old, dated and tired grounds in need of some TLC

Stay was ok. Room wasn't ready until after 4pm, check in was at 3pm. There was no option for a slightly earlier check in. When we arrived at 2.30pm we were told check in wasn't until 3pm. The desk wasn't staffed until 3pm. The room was comfortable but the room had signs of wear and tear. Bathroom was very clear and newly refurbished which was lovely. Staff member at reception was friendly and helpful. Room

Fully refurbished in 2024 but Rooms not all as the images show. Some are clearly not refurbished and are dated. So be mindful that what you see when booking may not be what you get. I booked a Junior Suite, the room I got looked and felt cold and empty, dated and not as the images when I booked. Reception staff were great at getting me moved to a more modern, comfortable and relaxing room. Although I could hear the rodents scurrying around in the ceiling! Dinner here was excellent. I had the Chicken curry which was great.
What my initial Junior suite room actually looked like vs the pictures online

poor service as no idea why the fire alarm kept going off. When went to ask confirmed that maybe because of the sauna door being left open. Advised it is the middle of the night and now have a crying baby who has woke up. Not the best service, as was not made aware of this before purchase. Seemed as though this was normal practice, as no worker seemed concerned, yet people staying there were all worried about what to do.

Slow check in, needed all of details again. Staff reporting that they do not normally work on reception. Room needed decorated, chipped paint. Very loud music until early hours. Lift out of order. Limited breakfast, no fries eggs and hot buffet not topped up while we were there (over 1 hour). Staff attempted to charge again for breakfast on check out, had to show my on line banking to prove payment from check in. No parking available near the hotel reception.
