About this property

The Rectory Lacock, Family Accommodation in the Heart of Lacock

Converted from the original former rectory stables, Lenton is the larger of our two cottages. It has a vaulted roof in the lounge/dining area and large windows including French doors over looking the fields and stables. Lenton Cottage has one double room with a king sized bed and a second bedroom with a truckle bed. The truckle bed provides our guests with a double bed and a single bunk bed above. Lenton Cottage accommodates four/five people and is ideally suited for a couple, a young family or business people working in the local area. Lenton Cottage is well equipped with a fully fitted kitchen including an electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. There is a wet room with a sizable shower, WC and washbasin. All linen and towels are included. The cottage has WIFI access as well as TV and DVD player. An iron and ironing board are available. There is on-site parking available for one car per cottage. Please note: for one additional car, subject to availability and pre-arranged in advance, there is an additional charge on arrival. The cottage shares a dedicated patio area and garden with Wheeler Cottage. The Rectory Lacock is a Grade II listed Victorian building built in 1866. Sitting in 6 acres of private Wiltshire countryside, the Rectory is just a 2 minute leisurely walk from the heart of the medieval National Trust village of Lacock. The two holiday cottages are in the grounds of the Rectory, where our guests have the privacy of their own dedicated patio area and a separate private garden, exclusively available to our cottage guests. Each cottage has two bedrooms and all of the facilities that our guests would expect to find in good quality self-catering accommodation. The beautiful village of Lacock is a firm favourite for film and TV producers due to its notably picturesque streets and historic cottages, all unspoilt by modern alterations. The village has been used as a setting for Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, Cranford and Harry Potter. Very recently, the village has been used for the filming the final Downton Abbey movie in Sep 2018. The cottages are also ideally suited to people visiting the local area including Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury and Longleat. We offer a discount for 7 night bookings.

Clean and comfortable in historic Lacock

The cottage is very clean and easy to access. Loved the location near historic Lacock and base for Bath and Cotswolds. Plenty of room for our family with 2 teen daughters. Charming country with sheep and bunnies! Helen was great to work with. I appreciate her flexibility and kindness in dealing with a booking mistake on my end.

Wonderful visit and beautiful cottage!

The cottage has gone through a recent renovation and is a perfect location to visit the surrounding countryside. The village is within walking distance and has at least 3-4 places for dining. The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Definitely recommend a stay at this location.

5/5 Excellent

Only there for two nights, but its a clean, warm, well appointed, equipped, furnished and managed newish two bedroom apartment, set in the grounds of a lovely old house. The owner is a delight, very helpful, and leaves you alone to 'do your thing'. There is easy access to the roads into Bath, or to the nearest P&R. The village seems very nice, with a good pub and eatery. Not much more to say after only two nights, but if you want somewhere which meets the above criteria (and who does not), they we would recommend this place as perfect. We might even use it again next year, if we want to go to the Christmas Market in Bath.

Beautiful accommodations and lovely hosts

Very clean and spacious self contained cottage on the grpunds of a rectory. We were able to park our car and walk to town easily. Helen was very friendly and always available to answer questions. The beds were very comfortable and our 2 teenage boys were able to stretch out in their bedroom. The kitchen was very well equipped with the basics and opened up into a nice lounge area with t.v. Beautiful place and very nice hosts.

Great location and value for money

Lacock is a beautiful spot and the cottage provided an excellent base to visit the area. Lovely location, easy to access, well kept. Access to fields. Great for a few days but a bit small for a family of 5 for longer though excellent value. Would recommend and would stay again
