This stay was AMAZING the customier service was exceptional from Chris!!!! From the phone call before I even arrived to check in!!! He was extremely hellful in assisting us to get to the hotel with all the options. After we were scared straight (lol) we rented a car, Chris knowing that help save us a couple dollars told us the best and safest way to park with all day service.. The hospitality from both Sam and Chris continued throughout the stay!! The tone of the hotel very grown and sexy!!! The room itself tremendously beautiful! (Pay attention the the art) this is a must every Chicago stay!! I’ve stayed at a lot of pricey hotels and this by far is #1! And a good price! Hopefully you all get to experience the Chris/Sam combo!! Absolutely adored them!

You always have to be on guard re the Sophy. I had a 3 night confirmed reservation and was a day late due to delays and when i arrived i was informed that my reservation had been "cancelled". They could say by who or why. It still showed as a valid reservation on my expedia account. When the expedia agent called them they casually explained that since i had not showed up by midnight of the forst day of my res, they automatically cancelled it (no call, no nothing). They promptly resold my room as it was sold out when i arrived. I had booked way early at an attractive rate so i am not aurprised they took advantage of my delay to cancel and reaell at a higher rate. The Sophy is known for these little shenanigans as i even heard form another friend who stayed there this weekend that they attempted to charge them a much higher rate upon check in than their reservation. Only after being presented with a printout of the original reservation did they honor it. The rooms are nice and it is well located for Uchicago but they shouldn't have to behave distastefully.

I stayed at the Sophy Hyde Hotel four nights in October 2025 while attending a conference. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were welcoming from the start. My room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and a fantastic city view. This is my third time staying at this hotel, Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations. Those breakfast pancakes yummy I’d definitely recommend it to business travelers and families alike.
