At first I only booked because of the hot tub . It was mine & my wife’s get away but when we arrive we were told the hot tub was out but I called before arrival so that was a little disappointing but overall good stay .

What a disappointment! Upon entering our room we were greeted by the smell of sewage. The A/C and fan was running on high which should have been our first clue. The carpet was wet between the entry tile & the bedroom area. I wasn't sure why so giving them the benefit of the doubt, I put a bath towel over the area so we didn't have to walk through it. The next day the towel was soaked through. I found water running down the wall from the ceiling onto the carpet. We reported it to maintenance who told us that "management" was resistant to fixing anything. He said he suspected that the smell was probably a clogged bathtub or toilet. When we returned, we were told the leak had been "fixed," but the room still smelled bad, so we asked for a different room. There was only 1 room we could move to without the king bed we had reserved. The new room had a dirty refrigerator with someone else's partially used 6-pack inside and a very wet bathroom floor plus a TV with a bad signal that disrupted viewing. The shower heads in the bathrooms are small & have very little water pressure. The elevator shook like a 6.0 earthquake! . It also showed the number "5" when you reached the 4th floor (only 4 floors in the building). Some of the lights on the outside hotel signs were out. This was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but we could smell cigarette smoke. No housekeeping without request, not even trash pickup. Bites on our ankles from bed bugs! Avoid this place!!!!

Raul at front desk was polite ... hotel was clean which is rare nowadays ‼️‼️‼️Overall staff and Hotel was great, even the maintenance guy was awesome and had great customer service (he should be working front desk w his customer service skills) 👏 👍 recommend location and will be returning.

The receptionist that checked us in is courteous/ friendly/ she looks at you when talking. She is fast and efficient. The room is clean. The only downside was you can hear conversations of people in the corridor/ closing of doors/ foot steps above your room.

The hotel was clean and smelled of freshness upon entering the hotel. My room was also very clean and the bed made nice and tight. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I think there was a memory foam pad as well. The only takeaway was the TV. It wasn’t a a smart tv. The remote was basic as well. You couldn’t pull up a menu to scroll through selections. Only the up and down, volume and on/off controls. Bummer. I brought along my iPad so it worked out. Overall a nice stay and I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel looked very run down from the outside - one of the lights in the name was out. I waited at the front desk for 10 minutes to check in - no one was in sight. The overall feel was that of a rundown location - there was water footprints (from the pool area), guests walking through lobby with bottles of alcohol. The air-conditioning unit banged every time it kicked in

The bathroom fan from the room below was very loud in our room which seemed to be going throughout the night on Saturday. The shower leaked water onto the floor. The breakfast was OK on the weekends, but rather sparce on weekdays. My biggest complaint is that I was quoted an estimated charge of $485.35, but I was charged $585.35. I would have disputed this at checkout, but the staff said the printer was out so they couldn't print me a receipt. So, I received and email receipt when I was on my way back to Texas. In hindsight, this seems to be rather fishy. We go to Gurnee on a regular basis, but I don't know if I want to stay at the La Quinta again if this is how the establishment operates.
