I'm a Hilton Rewards member, and made the mistake of reserving a room at this hotel based on previous Hilton experiences instead of reading the reviews. That was my first mistake. The staff at this hotel are an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with, as noted in other reviews. I travel regularly for work, and often have to order supplies for the events I organize to be delivered to the hotel, which has never been an issue before. At the Chicago Garden Inn, I dealt with multiple problems, including staff lying and being rude, no housekeeping for the 4 nights I stayed, being placed on hold for an hour and a half by a manager, and the last straw was the security person taking over 24 hours to get my things out of storage and then dumping them on the floor out of the box, and refusing to pick them up. This caused me to be late to the airport and miss my flight, which I then had to pay $700 for a new plane ticket. The manager I did finally get to speak with refused my claim for reimbursement of this expense, saying that holding my items was complimentary service, so they had no obligation to return the items to me in a timely manner, despite me paying a $120 "storage fee." The management at this hotel is equally awful as the staff and I'll be taking my claims higher up the ladder. On top of all of this, there were homeless people in the lobby yelling at 2 different instances during my stay.
