The original Congress Plaza building dates back to 1893, the property has clearly been remodeled several times, the paint is worn in places, the tiles in our bathroom were cracked in several places. This place is physically far from perfect, however what she lacks in perfection she more than makes up for in charm, tye antique brass fixtures by the elevator, the mail drop, the restaurants and room service, being on Michigan Avenue just 2-3 blocks from Soldier Field, The field Museum, Grant Park Buckingham Fountain,The Art Institute of Chicago, and loop subway stations and at least 5 different Universities make this place perfectly situated to enjoy and explore Chicago, I really loved how the security guys checked for room keys after the concert we attended at soldier field. I believe their names were Willy and Lee ? i may be wrong but whats important is that there was 24hr security that was paying attention. The rates are an incredible bargain considering the location. All of the staff were polite, attentive and generally charming. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, room service was quick, the food was excellent and very affordable, housekeeping was excellent and the towels were super thick & soft. My only real complaint is that the pillows were foam and not very comfortable, but i bet if i had thought to ask they would have gotten me a feather pillow. This place is a superior value, with charming antique details, nice restaurants & bars and totally convenient

I used the business center and there's a little seating area. I went to charge my tablet and phone. The area wasn't clean, nor the vending machines room. I saw a spider web hanging from a light outside waiting uber. The bellmen were all courteous and helpful. Appreciated their services.

Close to a lot of sight seeing areas that are walkable. Also close to the L trains if you don't want to walk. Staff is friendly and offers suggestions of places to eat which were great choices.

the cleaning ladies were very sweet and helpful, there was a bit of a language barrier but all of our needs were met with the little of each other’s language we all did know. i appreciate them so much ! the staff were very nice but asked to see my key card as if i hadn’t been there the previous day but overall the stay was pleasant and i would highly recommend!!
