Over 1,800 sq ft across two levels: original 1883 bones, Moroccan-meets-tropical design. The living room is where everyone lands: a curved sectional, a leather sofa and a wall TV, open to the game room behind it. Rack the balls on the full-size pool table, settle a score at the dartboard, and grab the bistro table between games.
The coffee bar lives in the game room corner: an espresso machine, a Keurig, beans and flavored syrups, so the first cup is ready before anyone's dressed. The kitchen is built for a group. Cook on the Wolf gas range, prep at the marble island with stools, with a dishwasher, French-door fridge, blender and full cookware. The long dining table seats the crowd, and with a felt topper it turns into poker night or blackjack after dinner.
Sleeping (7 beds):
• Primary suite: king bed, a full pull-out couch, a sitting area and French doors to the deck along with its in-suite rainfall walk-in shower
• Queen bedroom with a canopy bed
• Queen bedroom with a four-poster canopy bed
• One bedroom with two full beds
• A roll away bed or two couches that can be used to sleep on.
• Room-darkening shades, extra pillows and blankets throughout
Three full bathroom: two rainfall walk-in showers plus one tub/shower combos, stocked with toiletries and a hair dryer.
Work and stay connected: a home office with a desk by the window and 5 Gbps fiber, truly fast Wi-Fi for video calls, streaming and late deadlines. Also here: washer and dryer, air conditioning, portable fans and board games.
Outside: two private decks. One is a string-lit hideaway with a hammock and lounge seating under the tree canopy. The other is covered, with the fire pit, a long outdoor dining table and a gas grill for dinner at dusk.
A good-neighbor note: Casa Palmera is one of several separate units in a vintage building, with neighbors below and beside you. Each unit has its own entrance and nothing is shared, but older walls carry sound, so be midnful of noise and expect some sound outside quiet hours.
WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR
• Large group trips: sleeps 14 with seven beds and three full baths, so nobody draws the short straw
• A girls weekend: getting ready across three bathrooms, brunch in the kitchen, wine on the deck before a night in Wicker Park
• A wedding weekend: a calm home base between events, a washer and dryer for outfit emergencies, and the decks to unwind together before quiet hours
• Family friendly stays: crib, pack 'n play and high chair on hand; kids of all ages are welcome. Be mindful of neighbors below, due to the age of the home, running and jumping noises transfer downstairs.
