Great stay

Great stay, the bedroom was clean and comfortable. Good choices for breakfast. We had an evening meal in the bar, the staff there were lovely, We unfortunately didn’t have chance to use the leisure facilities.

Needs a lot of work doing.

Outside of property is dated and tired. Rotten wood and cordoned off areas.Inside hall ways the same. Foyer clean , today and looks like it’s recently been updated. Swimming pool was awful - paint peeling, lots of rust, not the cleanest. Breakfast was good with lots of choice, bedrooms were clean and comfortable

Check in was quick, with efficient & friendly instructions. A long walk to the room but then we did ask for a quiet room. The friendly service from (Mark?) when we ordered food & drinks in the evening was excellent( he’s a wonderful salesman!) The only downside was the extreme heat due to the air conditioning not working on a day when the temperature had been in the high 20’s. We used the pool& jacuzzi before breakfast which was fine but the paint is hanging off the rails above the jacuzzi- definitely needs sorting.

Check in was ok, the room was clean, the bed comfortable breakfast was good with nice staff. However the stay was let down by the bathroom which although clean. The shower screen on the bath didn't stay back, repeatedly coming in on you limiting the amount of room to shower in. The bath towels had marks on them that looked like they had been through several washes, Black/brown on one and yellow on the other.

Generally very good after disappointing start.

Receptionist quite brusque when we checked in. Hotel room very warm as aircon seemed not to be working. Although a room fan had been provided. Gym and pool had already shut (8 p.m) when we arrived which we thought was little early. However, bar-staff and others around friendly and accommodating. Following morning gym/ pool staff very friendly and helpful and all said hello when passing in corridors. Breakfast was another very good experience with polite helpful staff and a great spread. No faults there at all.

No AC despite it being advertised by hotel

Individual AC in my room with a control panel on the wall but it didn’t work. So it was high 20s in the room and impossible to sleep, I just got a couple of restless hours. I was asked at checkout if everything was ok and I mentioned about the ac. Response was that the rooms I was in were on a malfunctioning system. This makes no sense as I mentioned there was an individual unit in my room it was not centralised ac. I asked if the other rooms had ac but was told approximately 60 percent of rooms have functioning ac so beware booking this hotel in the summertime!!! If you’re from Africa or southern Europe you might be ok but if not you will not get any sleep with the excruciating heat and lack of ventilation!

Poor experience but staff very helpful

We booked to superior rooms. When we arrived the hotel had no power and no facilities available. We couldn’t book in or use any convenience. We had to leave and come back 3 hrs later. The staff were very good and tried their best at all times. They offered to store our luggage until we returned to try booking in again.The hvac in the rooms was not available and we had a small fan provided which was not much use on one of the hottest days of the year. I suspect it had been out of action for at least a few days. If so that’s not acceptable. Basically a very poor hotel experience but not the fault of the staff we encountered who were all excellent despite obviously having to handle a lot of pressure. Not up to standard.

Diabolical and shambolic

The air-conditioning has been switched off from what i can make on in other reviews for about 2 months now. Yet reception staff wont admit that. It was incredibly hot and the corridors were boiling, room was nothing more than a sauna. Uttered ridiculous. Staff claim its broken...if something is broken down you get people in to fix it no??? Not these kit. Cost saving at the expense of the customer. Will never stay again and warn others from doing so.
