Quiet cosy room above a pub serving great food. Always a warm welcome by the great staff. Stay here twice a year as it ticks all the tight boxes. Good car park, comfy room and great shower with reasonable Wi-Fi for the area.

The George and Dragon was ideal, everyone very friendly but our room was opposite the hotel. The room itself was clean and in good order but so hot that we couldnt and didnt sleep all night. It was extremely noisy and the small lobby and stairs up to our room was filthy!! This was s real shame as the managers were very welcoming as were the bar staff.

We only booked to stay on the day of our arrival, so very short notice! We were warmly welcomed and our room was available for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and delicious, we had a good choice of food and on the second morning we had specific requests which were met without any hesitation. The parking was not a problem in the car park with ample space. We only had to register our car in reception for the duration of our stay. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend the George and Dragon in Tarvin. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I had booked a room at the George and Dragon as I have always done for the last few years when working at Oulton Park. Admittedly they did notify me a few weeks ago that I was now staying at the pub across the road which they had now acquired, but to be honest it wasn't as ideal. Picky I know. But having to check in at the George and Dragon to then walk across to collect key and be shown to your room etc is a minor point, but similarly all meals were back at the George and Dragon. The Red Lion being just a pub is considerably noisier and with the room being just above the bar, things didn't quieten down till done 11:30. Yes the room has obviously been recently refurbished, but the whole stay is much better when staying at the George and Dragon.

Comfortable room, with a decent shower

Room was nice, Bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. Only downside was there wasn’t anyone available when we wanted to check out, tried calling but no answer, breakfast started very late at 8:30 so we missed that too.

We had a lovely time staying at the George and dragon. The Tarvin Christmas market was on , the day of our arrival and the road was due to close from lunchtime, the landlord was very accommodating and let us check in earlier than usual, before the road closed, which was really kind. The hotel was warm and welcoming and we had a meal in the afternoon which was amazing value, good portions and really tasty. The room was clean and comfortable and the stay was made even better by the friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice, a full English breakfast set us up for a day at Chester Christmas market. I would definitely stay again in the future.

Highly recommended, Great Stay, Great Staff

A group of us rented all of the rooms out for a nearby wedding. The service given from the staff was exceptional. Very friendly, repeatedly went above and beyond. Great rooms and great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel. Rooms have great facilities, fan, speaker, TV, tea and coffee facilities. Would definitely come back.
