Only one complaint..

I did not eat the breakfast .. My room was clean ..It was small but it was clean. .he coffee there in the lobby was delicious the front desk clerks were very friendly and nice. My only complaint about the quality inn was the beds ..they were very uncomfortable. Seems like when you would lay down you would feel the springs digging into your back and I'm so glad I brought a foam topper with me that I always carry just in case the bed is not comfortable ...that's the only way I was able to sleep on that bed. Think they need new mattresses .. ..

The room had a sickening odor of mildew. The ceiling was black and cracked. We tried to change rooms, but the hotel was booked solid. I would not recommend this to anyone with a sensitivity to allergies.

Don't Stay Here!

I was there for a 5 day event in Maggie Valley, and this was one of the hotels supporting the event. I was in a room with two beds on the first floor, which is what I had requested. The first day the lock on the door to my room broke, leaving me unable to even close the door completely, let alone lock the door. The room also had a weird piece of unfinished wood mounted on the wall above the nightstand between the beds. When I complained about the lock, the front desk clerk came with me to the room, and tried to fix it, but after a couple of minutes gave up. She agreed to move me to another room. Unfortunately, the new room was on the 2nd floor. And did I mention that the elevator had a sign on it saying it wasn't working? When I got into the new room I noticed something right away. It as the same two bed setup with a nightstand between the beds. What was different was that the separate "headboards" in the first room was actually a single...thing...mounted to the wall above both of the beds and the nightstand. Like a wall sized headboard. In the first room apparently the middle section had been removed for some reason. One of the things I was told was that the owner was at another of his locations fixing a problem there, and would come work on the door lock for the first room when he was done...which made me think, he owns multiple hotels but doesn't appear to have a maintenance staff/team? I ran out of room to add a comment about the odd issues with the breakfast attendant.

The mattress and pillow were very comfortable, better than at most other properties at which I have stayed. The room was clean. Location was convenient. I appreciated having "free" breakfast, but the coffee was so bad that I poured it out and there was no real half and half, just chemicals (Coffee Mate). There was a good variety of breakfast items served, though the eggs tasted like they were either powdered or previously frozen. Waffles and baked goods were available, but I did not try them.

The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was great large selection. Fire alarm went off at 3 am by a kid that was staying there that night police could not see the face in the camara. The parking lot is well lit. The staff was nice.

We loved this property we found it to be wonderful and excellent location. We had a little bit of a problem our key card would not open the door, we contacted day manager and she came down with a bucket of keys! All numbered but in no particular order. I was holding the bucket for her while she tried keys. This lady never lost her composure, the smile never left her face, she had been in contact with the lock company who was several hours away. She kept apologizing even though we knew it was not her fault, while I was holding a bucket I looked down and saw one of the keys was numbered 1 2 0 and that was our room number! This lady was as happy as we were if not more. We told her when we checked out that she was the hero of our trip because she helped us get back in our room, and as we said before the smile never left her face. She might have been grumbling inside, but we could not see it. I wish I had gotten her name, because she deserves to be commended!

The stay itself was okay except that the elevator was and has been apparently, out of service. My husband and I are both physically challenged and lugging our luggage up a flight of stairs was not what we expected. We had no choice but to accept the room on the second floor as it was a busy weekend in Maggie Valley and all of the rooms on the first floor were spoken for. We feel like the elevator issue should have been disclosed on the websites that advertise this hotel. The elevator is undergoing reconstruction so this should be noted on your website.
