Home to the legendary Daytona 500, Daytona Beach offers visitors a range of exciting activities. You can enjoy the thrill rides, amusements and old-time nostalgia of the boardwalk and pier, as well as the sun and water sports on one of the world's most famous beaches. After playing a round golf or visiting historic sites like the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, head downtown to enjoy restaurants like Coco’s Bistro, and Daytona's high-energy nightlife.
All the attractions are within easy reach of Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) , which is conveniently located near State Highway 93 and the Interstate 4 and 95 interchange. North-south traffic uses Routes 1 and A1A while cross traffic uses surface streets to reach the celebrated Daytona Motor Speedway and festivals, such as Bike Week and the Halifax Art Festival. Rent a car so that you can create your own itinerary for visiting the beach, the scenic Ponce Inlet fishing village and the Museum of Arts and Sciences. Rental car agency counters are located across from baggage claim at the airport.
Driving on the beach is a time-honored pastime. The beach is open to vehicles from sunup to sunset, so you can drive out for a picnic any time of day. Watch for signs guiding you to the designated areas.
