Welcome to your downtown Charleston retreat, a freshly completed 1-bedroom suite tucked into a classic Charleston duplex on Spring Street. Located next to Josephine’s Wine Bar and just a short walk from King Street, this home blends historic character with thoughtful modern updates for an authentic local experience.

Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.

Our first visit to Charleston, and this one bdrm suite was just perfect. The location was great, and we enjoyed walking everywhere. We loved having free parking on site. Its a bustling area, with a lot of traffic and foot traffic outside, but we enjoyed the vibe a lot. We did travel with a little sound machine, and we found that beneficial when going to bed early bc of our early departure. Also, we loved the little coffee shop around the corner, Island Provisions, and the lattes and matcha were both fantastic! The make their own syrups. Overall, the suite was spacious and everything was super clean. The towels and linens were very nice. Cozy living area with good options on the big screen. Very pleased with our stay.

Perfect Location!

This house had the perfect location for all things downtown Charleston! Walking distance to so many shops, the Charleston Market, Pineapple Fountain, everything we wanted to see. Parking is tight so be aware of that when driving but once there, you won’t have to drive again unless you choose to. Can’t wait to return!

We loved our stay here! The location is great, the communication was excellent and they even offer luggage storage!! The icing on the cake was we could order goodies ahead of time. We had beer, wine and snacks ready for our arrival.

Great location

Wonderful location with many restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was spacious, AC worked well, and the bed was very comfortable. Some guests have reported street noise since the bedroom faced the street, and while this is certainly true didn't bother us. While off street parking is a plus, the allotted spots (which belonged to more than one property) were extremely tight to accommodate today's SUVs. This was a concern. Also, the stairway leading to this upstairs apartment was very steep (this is a very old house) and the handrail only covered half of the staircase.

Charlestone Getaway

The location is central and provides easy access to the downtown area. That was very nice. However, the location is very noisy. That may not bother some, but we find it difficult to sleep with significant street noise. The location on a busy street was not disclosed in the listing. In addition, the mini split AC system was also very noisy, particularly in the seating area. Also, we timed our stay there so we could do some laundry. However, the dryer was not working. The host made arrangements to take the laundry somewhere else, which was appreciated. It was very inconvenient.

The amenities saved us

As our first trip of a family with a small child (4 months), I knew our weekend would be a test run. I am very thankful for the pack n play provided and also the washer/dryer/tide pods. They also provide a water pitcher with a filter which we used a ton. These are now things I will always be on the look out for when traveling.

The property is central to a lot of great places to eat and shop with free, clean public transportation to the waterfront, aquarium, and the market along with many other areas of the city. The property itself is super cute and fully functional the minute you step inside. Slept like a baby and enjoyed space just to chill in comfort!
