Overall we had a lovely stay. The hosts were genuinely lovely, responsive and very accommodating, even waiting late into the evening to greet us after our delayed flight. The villa is exactly as shown in the photos - fairly basic but clean and comfortable, and in a good location.The main point I'd like future guests to be aware of is the description of the property as being within walking distance of shops and tavernas. Technically this is true (around 5 mins), but the route is via an extremely steep dirt path with a rope to hold onto in order to get up and down safely. One of our group found it easier to go down backwards using the rope. I'm a 37 year old fitness instructor and found it difficult, and wearing anything other than trainers wasn't really an option (not ideal when heading out for the evening in a nice dress!). This didn't cause us major problems but think this should be made clearer in the listing so guests can decide if it's suitable as it isn't an easy walk.A few small improvements would make a big difference: there was only one wine glass for four guests, the showers need usable wall brackets for the shower heads, one iron was broken and wasn't replaced after we reported it, and the mattresses are very firm, which was fine for us but may not suit everyone.These are all fairly minor issues and easy fixes. We really enjoyed our stay, appreciated the lovely hosts, and would simply encourage a little more detail in the listing to help set expectations.

Toller Urlaub in einer wundervollen Villa

Ein tolles Haus im Grünen, mit herrlichem Blick auf die Stadt und das Meer. Das gesamte Gelände durfte ohne Einschränkungen genutzt werden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit dem Auto 3 min entfernt, zu Fuß zum Supermarkt 5 min. Handtücher und Duschgel + Shampoo wurden gestellt. Wlan auf dem ganzen Gelände sehr gut zu empfangen. Waschmaschine ist vorhanden, Wäsche trocknen einfach nach draußen hängen ;-). Handtücher und Strandhandtücher wurden ebenfalls gestellt, und der Kühlschrank war für das Abendessen mit Brot Käse und Getränken gefüllt. Vielen Dank für diese schönen 2 Wochen, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Excellent villa with a fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea!

Myself and four others spent a week at this property where we were warmly welcomed by the property owners, who dropped by once or twice during our stay to make sure everything was running smoothly. It is a very beautiful villa with a homely feel to it. There is a swimming pool there also which is a great way to escape from the heat. There is also superb air conditioning which is exceptionally quiet. The cooking facilities are also in good condition. It took us about 8 minutes to walk to the nearest beach from the villa, where we passed many restaurants along the way. It is located only a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop which will take you into Chania town for only €2. The taxi service in the area is also very cheap for those of you who want to stay out a little later. Overall I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay outside the hustle and bustle of the town but not wanting to be completely isolated. There is , however, a steep off-road trail up to the property so I would not recommend it to anyone who is unsteady on their feet or in a wheelchair.
