When arriving the house was as pictured in listing, beautiful view of the lake from living room/ deck. Very cute charming camp house. However, there was a “damp” camp smell in the house when walking in, had to purchase scent jars to help. Our second night is when our visit went awful, started around midnight with hearing some sort of critter trying to get in the vent in lower bedroom to about an hour later being attacked by a bat in the bedroom on main floor. After swishing it out of room we shut the bedroom door and stayed there until morning. Needless to say we did not get any sleep with this bat flying around the house. In morning called house keeper “Bill”and “fairly” to ask for help, Bill came over and walked around house, finding the bat at the highest peak of vaulted ceiling, no way of him reaching. Bill called owner who said they would get someone out. Gave me the name of two places who I called to confirm when they would get there and found owner wouldn’t approve the emergency visit to remove bat. Called fire dept to see if they could help unfortunately was told they didn’t have anyone on staff to handle a bat and told we shouldn’t disturb it because it could carry diseases and the owner should send out a professional to remove. We received no help from owner so packed up and left before it got dark, shortening our vacation. Totally bummed out and not “Impressed” with how the owner takes your money but won’t spend any to help the renters!
