La Nutria

A rural house in Cazalla de la Sierra on the banks of the Hueznar River and within its riparian forest, right at the start of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla Greenway and at the foot of the GR 48, the long-distance hiking trail that crosses the entire Sierra Morena. The Las Laderas and Molino del Corcho hiking trails also begin here. Additionally, the Cazalla-Extremadura, Rivera del Hueznar, and Cordel de las Merinas (or Senda) livestock trails start from the rural house.

Other natural attractions near Paraiso del Hueznar that you can enjoy include the Isla Margarita and Castillejo Recreational Areas. This is also where the section of the Molino del Corcho intensive trout fishing reserve begins—the only one of its kind in the province of Seville.

Along the Greenway, you’ll see the Martinete Waterfalls Natural Monument and the source of the Hueznar River. You’ll pass through San Nicolás del Puerto, where you can visit the Roman bridge over the river beach, and at the end of the route, marvel at the karst mountains of the second Natural Monument, Cerro del Hierro—an ancient coral reef (450.000.000 ) years old—which is the largest and most-visited Natural Monument in Andalusia.
