This hotel is a huge disappointment. It is located in a part of Catania that I would not feel safe walking in. The hotel itself is run down with very old bedding and furnishings. It is in need of major upgrades inside and out. The photo shared online misrepresents this property. It is nowhere what it shows in the photos. I checked in and checked out 19 minutes later upon seeing the hotel and my room. I was not given any refund and lost money on this rundown, unfair hotel.

Ældre hotel i trist bydel med god service.

Vi overnattede en nat på Hotel La Ville på vej til en tidlig afgang i lufthavnen (afstand ca. 20 minutter med taxa). Hotellet er af ældre dato og stand, men det var vores oplevelse at det er i bedring, med ihærdige medarbejdere. Det ligger på den forkerte side af en hovedfærdselsordre i Catania i et mindre pænt kvarter. Værelset var stort og badeværelset var fint, og der var en lille balkon. Et lys i entreen blev ved med at blinke efter at være slukket, og kunne åbenbart ikke repareres, så jeg tog selv pæren ud for at vi kunne sove. Personalet var meget venligt og bestilte taxa til os og sikrede at vi kom godt afsted, så vi følte os i trygge hænder.

An ideal hotel for a quick 48hr visit

Hotel is within walking distance to train Station, major bonus if you are looking to continue your travels. Clean, quiet and safe. Would recommend short stay only. Close to Main Street in Catania where you will find the best bar Ill Cantiniere.

Hotel è a soli 10 minuti a piedi dal centro. A pochi passi dalla stazione ferroviaria e dalla stazione dei pullman. Un buon posto per chi vuole visitare anche Messina, Taormina, Siracusi ecc. Personaledell’albergo gentilissimo e disponibile. Stanza spaziosa, molto pulita. Colazione ottima.

I had no problem with the bad environment (especially in the night) anybody have to pass through to reach the hotel, but the hotel owner(s) should act against the town council.

Fine hotel well located for transport (train, bus)

I selected this hotel because of its proximity to transport, and I would happily return there. The quality for the price is great. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful; Marianne was of constant assistance during my first days and all of the stall, reception and domestic, ensured a most enjoyable week. The hotel retains the graciousness and spaciousness of an earlier age, and does so without pretension. My room was large and comfortable; the bathroom had been tastefully modernized. The breakfast room and common social areas were colourful and inviting. The buffet breakfast offered a selection which would cope with most tastes. The location-the positives: My program was to explore the east coast from Messina to Syracuse by train and bus; the hotel is a 10 min walk from the stations. The Duomo and other highlights of Catania are a 15-20 walk. The location-the negatives: The neighbourhood is very run down, even shabby; there are signs that development is planned but I saw no evidence of it happening. Hotel La Ville seems very out of place in the midst of its surroundings. There is almost no commerce in the area, although there is a fine seafood restaurant 5 min from the hotel. For the young and adventuresome and even for the old and adventuresome (- I include myself) the location could be seen as a positive, an opportunity to experience an off-the-tourist-sites Catania.

夜遅くにカターニア駅に着いたので、場所がわかりにくく、また、門限が近いという電話もかかってきて、駅からタクシーを使いました。ホテル自体は快適でスタッフも親切でした。駅よりバスターミナルが近いですね。
