Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
The apartment is a spacious former family home, located in a closed-gate residential compound.
It is close to the promenade and there is quite lively amusement park just across the street.
Most of the rooms are facing that entrance side and are exposed to its noise.
There were two aircons in the place, which were so complicated to operate, that I never bothered learning how to program them.
There is also a central heating, which was on every night.
The kitchen is well equipped with old and scratched pots and pans, but there was no kettle. Most items were greasy and it’s a shame as there was a dishwasher available.
We did request a corkscrew and a chef’s knife and the host has kindly provided them, but the knife was not good
The oven was so complicated to operate, that again, we never bothered even trying it.
Perhaps the biggest negative of this place is, that it was dated. Almost every surface in the kitchen was greasy and sticky.
There were countless number of dusty hangers in the wardrobe, also there were dated and dusty items in the bathroom.
The shower pressure was good, but again its head was not clean.
The benches and the swing on the terrace were dirty, the sofas in the lounge were dated.
Brand new towels and bed linen.
On our last morning, I got awaken by a violent car horn noise, around 3-4am. It felt like the biggest traffic jam I was involved in, only lying in bed!
Good communication with the host.
Would I return – no. It did not feel like home away from home
