Castle Hill is a charming alpine village set in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand. It's a fabulous place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature. It’s a special spot!

In winter, enjoy easy access to skiing at Porters or one of the many local club fields. During the summer, the area is a paradise for adventure, with epic hiking and mountain biking trails throughout the Craigieburn Range.

You will have private and exclusive access to the entire property. Make yourself at home and enjoy all the amenities, including the outdoor deck and the luxurious hot tub—perfect for a relaxing soak while taking in the sunset over the mountains.

We are about an hour away, you will have the place to yourself. We are available for any questions and happy to help.

Castle Hill Village is an awesome base for exploring the varied landscapes of the Castle Hill Basin with exciting adventures to be had, and fantastic scenery to enjoy. Hiking and biking in the Summer and skiing the club hills in the winter, there is something for everyone.

The village is very walkable, you will see small groups of people out and about most days. The Alpine Highway is very accessible to take you to local ski hills or more hiking and biking trails.

The property is conveniently located just over an hour's drive from Christchurch, making it an accessible escape to the mountains.

Please note that Castle Hill is a quiet, residential-only village. There are no grocery stores, restaurants, or shops in the immediate area.

It is essential that you bring all the food, drinks, and supplies you will need for the duration of your stay. If arriving from Christchurch or the West Coast, please be sure to stop at a supermarket before you complete your journey to the house.

HOTTUB
Please check hottub on arrival. If temperature is low switch off at outlet for 30 seconds then turn on again. Please add 1 teaspoon of chlorine per person after every use. Chlorine is above the fridge.

COFFEE
We provide instant coffee and teas. We have a Nespresso but you will need to bring your own pods.

RUBBISH
Rubbish and Recycling Bins can be found off the Nort West corner of Luge Loop

CHECKOUT
As we are a remote location we need to do all our laundry in the house. To make this efficient as our cleaners have numerous homes to clean we require guests to
1) Strip sheets off beds and put 1 load of washing on
2) Turn the dishwasher on before they leave
