Summary:
Enjoy views of Cashiers Lake from The Cedar Cabin, a comfortable 1BR/1BA stay within easy walking distance of Cashiers shops and restaurants. Originally a U.S. Forest Service cabin and thoughtfully renovated in 2021, it is an inviting home base for couples, solo travelers, and guests bringing a dog along to explore the mountains.
The Space:
The Cedar Cabin is a cozy one-bedroom, one-bath stay with views of Cashiers Lake and the everyday essentials for a relaxed mountain getaway. It includes a kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and free on-site parking.
Originally used as a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville, The Cedar Cabin was relocated to Cashiers Lake and renovated in 2021. Today, it provides a comfortable, character-filled place to recharge between days spent dining, shopping, hiking, and exploring the surrounding mountains.
Pets are welcome at The Cedar Cabin. Because the property and outdoor amenities are shared, dogs must remain leashed whenever they are outside the cabin.
Guest Access:
You’ll have The Cedar Cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking. Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, a communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and outdoor sink and fish-cleaning station.
The gazebo is a pleasant place to enjoy morning coffee, relax with a book, or take in the view across Cashiers Lake.
The Neighborhood:
The Cedar Cabin is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small lake-view cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Shops, restaurants, coffee, and other local favorites are within easy walking distance. Waterfalls, hiking trails, scenic drives, Highlands, and other mountain destinations are best reached by car.
Getting Around:
Free parking is available on-site. You can walk to several parts of central Cashiers, but a car is recommended for exploring the surrounding mountains and nearby destinations.
Other Things to Note:
The Cedar Cabin offers views of Cashiers Lake and is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You’ll have your own private cabin, but neighboring cabins and shared outdoor spaces are nearby. It is best suited to guests who value lake views, walkability, historic character, and convenient access to Cashiers rather than a secluded or highly private mountain setting.
Dogs must remain supervised and leashed at all times while outdoors. Please do not allow pets to roam the property unattended, and be sure to follow the complete pet policy and house rules during your stay.
Interaction with Guests:
We respect your privacy, but our local team is available by message if you need anything before or during your stay.
