Masseria Illo Tempore is a beautifully restored country house, set in extensive gardens with a private pool. This 5-bedroom property can accommodate up to 12 people and is the ideal holiday retreat for friends or family who want to relax in peace or explore the stunning beaches and historic towns of Salento.

The house encourages outside living, with several shaded verandas furnished with sofas and chairs where guests can enjoy their surroundings. The larger shaded terrace serves as an outdoor dining room and bar. There is also a jacuzzi and a smaller terrace where guests can read undisturbed.

Inside, the kitchen is equipped with cooker and induction hobs, oven, fridge/freezer and a Moka coffee maker.

Guests can relax on sun loungers after a refreshing dip in the large, saltwater pool. Coloured, underwater lights, create a magical effect at nighttime. The extensive gardens ensure maximum privacy. Guests also have access to the vegetable garden where they can find the freshest, seasonal produce.

Location
The property is on the edge of the charming town of Carpignano Salentino and just 15 minutes from the famous Baia dei Turchi on the Adriatic Coast. Carpignano Salentino’s roots go back to the ancient Greek settlements. The Crypt of Santa Cristina features a system of cave dwellings dug out of the rock. The historic centre is Medieval and surrounded by remains of the original city walls.

The town’s weekly market takes place on Saturday mornings and is the best place to find local ingredients, including olive oil, cheese and the freshest vegetables. For self-catering there is also a supermarket just 2 minutes from the house for everyday essentials.

The Adriatic coast is just 15 minutes away and visitors will be spoiled for choice with the beautiful beaches nearby. Otranto (15 minutes) also makes a lovely day trip. This historic port is home to an impressive castle, 11th Century cathedral and well-preserved town centre. Alternatively, guests should head to Lecce (30 minutes). Known as the Florence of the South, this stunning city is home to some of the finest Baroque architecture in Italy, as well as fascinating Roman ruins.

The closest airport is at Brindisi - just an hour away by car.
