The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The gentleman that checked us in was very professional, knowledgable and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. It waa more like a studio apt, definitely a great deal for the price. The breakfast exceeded our expectations with myltiple hot and cold options. Will definitely recommend to anyone staying in the Vandalia, IL area.

I just want to leave a HUGE SHOUT OUT to the owner or ever was working on September 26th, 2025 bc they were execeptional and truly made us feel like we were friends or family. We were traveling over night bc my husbands father was in the ICU and he offered us 2 queen beds instead of just the king that we had reserved! Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Breakfast was good with many options room was clean but had a heavy smell of smoke which made it difficult.staff was great. The handicap room we had was not very user friendly. The shower stool had no back, there was no hand held shower sprayer which handicap people need. Invest $100 and it would have been much nicer.

Better on the inside

The outside looks a little sketchy and run down and the lobby breakfast area doesn’t really scream “clean,” but the interior of the room was nice, it was quiet, and for the price it was a great overnight stay.

Clean room with basic essentials. Breakfast was enough to grab a bite of oatmeal, cereal, fruit, juice or coffee and heat on your way. Service was fast and friendly. I'd recommend staying here. Cleanliness was good, bed comfortable

Beds were disgusting bedding had not been changed in a long time human hair dog hair spots of I don't care to know on the sheets and pillows. They did apologize and put new bedding on. If you can stand the smoky bar smell and don't mind who's juices you lay in then this is the place for you

It’s a hotel

This place was adequate for my one night stay over on the way to somewhere else. The room was clean and the plumbing worked. Breakfast is nothing to write home about. No place nearby that I wanted to eat and no real grocery store in town, but there are some options in the downtown area. I was expecting better given the traveler rating that this place had. I would read it a five out of 10.

I mean it’s Okay

I mean for the price it was decent. Towel should have been cleaner but the room was more than fine. If the outside was better I could have scored a little bit higher.
