A big NO.

Room was cleaned 2 out of 10 days. Bathroom smelled of dampness. Windows were dirty and with spider webs all over. 3 times i was waked up by false fire alarm. Poor breakfast: no fruits or veggies. Most of the food is fried. Dirty glasses for juice. Last 2 days breakfast was “cancelled “ because cook was sick. A mouse was walking freely in the breakfast area.

2 day trip. Good value. Staff friendly. 15 minutes walk ro train station. Frequent bus service. Breakfast hit or miss. Would use again if ever in Carlisle again. Bedding, towels clean and fresh. Room clean.Bath room old but adequate.

Last time we went to Brampton we stayed at Strung of Horses,£68 b and b,this time they wanted £142 ,no way,but i found this little gem on a hill20 mins walk from the action,it was basic but clean and a little dated.it did the job,and was busy eith contractors

Staff was pleasant and did what they could do with what they were dealing with. The building is rundown and enough to make you want to turn away. Inside was better and room was decent. Our shower did not come close to working properly and we ended up taking a half a shower, half a bath.

Shocking

Absolutely disgusted. Mouldy in the bathroom and bedroom. Full of flues and cobwebs . No towels left. Our clothes and beds where actually damp wet to touch. Never ever will i stwy here again. 10/10 for the staff. Working hard all the time but not there fault the building works need doing or condemned

Clean, basic but good value

The Ox Hotel is dated and a little tired but clean, comfortable beds, helpful staff and great value for money. Breakfast was basic choices, nothing fancy but more than adequate. Good selection of hot food choices, toast, couple of cereals, fruit juices, tea and coffee. There's a small gym, table tennis, pool table and darts. An ironing board in the room and iron provided at reception.

Very run down hotel with dirty windows and shabby furniture The shower was good though and the bed comfy enough but lots of banging of doors during the night by inconsiderate guests.

Tired but clean

Staff were very friendly, but one staff member was running the bar & reception on check in, and there was only one member of staff running the reception and the restaurant in the morning. Room was clean and tidy, perfect for a bed for the night on a long journey. Definitely in need of a redecoration, tired and scuffed furniture & carpets. Car park needs retarmacking but usable.

Looks a bit tatty from the outside but is nice and clean and fresh inside, a fair few drunk individuals stumbling in at all hours and people smoking weed outside wasnt great. Not a great place for a family stay, breakfast was good though

Very basic, reasonably clean, but facilities poorly maintained with rusty fittings, exposed and damaged woodwork, musty smell in bathroom. Did not want to use shower unit. Beds very basic and uncomfortable as could feel springs.
