The standard of ingredients at breakfast was very poor. One can understand a tomato in January to be tasteless, but for bacon and eggs to both also be utterly without flavour is very very poor. The Pancakes felt a bit stale, the melon was tasteless and the pastries uninspiring. The only quality ingredient I tasted which had anyflavour at all was the Yoghurt which is bought in. Way way way too poor for a hotel of the Celtic Manor's standing, akin to the Princess of Wales being dressed in Primark clothes.

I have stayed at the Celtic Manor and Coldra Court numerous times for work and have always enjoyed my stay. However this time the room was lovely, but at dinner i was accused of wandering in to the buffet restaurant without booking in and then i was sat for 2 hours and was not offered a drink once. I was given a small glass of water when I sat down but that was it. In the morning i was told i couldn't have a VAT receipt because i booked on Expedia although I have always had a receipt in the past.. I know its not the full amount but it works for my tax records. The two people on reception were not just completely uninterested in helping me but also so condescending and accused me of lying. With the evening and then the morning treatment I will think twice about staying next time.

I was upgraded to the main hotel and it was fantastic. Clean room and bathroom. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic so much choice and freshly cooked. also the evening meal was great. And secure gated parking. 10/10

For a hotel of that status it was poor. The carpets were warn, the lift didnt work which was unfortunate as our room was on the third floor. The door to go into the venue didnt work and reception staff werent welcoming and not particularly helpful. Pad restuart was very good. Nice staff serving there.

Unfortunately this stay was poor compared to numerous previous stays. One of the pool areas was closed (wasn’t clear until after booking) and the forum pool area had several problems with hot tubs, etc. The technical issues didn’t stop there lifts did not work to the rooms and involved climbing several staircases We checked in and were told there’d be bottled water in the room, there wasn’t, we enquired at front desk and they said it had already been sent to the room and they’ll send more. Nothing ever came. The room was very poor. It was a potential adjoining room with the joining door closed however it was uncomfortably clear what was being said (even whispered) and watched on television in the next room. All in all very disappointing break.

Clean room although many have interconnecting doors which doesn't help noise levels as well as making you feel unsafe. We were moved very efficiently by a fantastic member of staff. No bathroom heating, towel rails not work so towels were still damp the next morning. Heating not working to heat room over 16 degrees. Maintenance crew came quickly but the problem needed a referral. Portable heaters arrived quickly which rectified the problem.
