Lovely place to stay.

The food was delicious, the service was amazing, a wonderful place to eat, drink and sleep. We had a classic bedroom which was fine for staying the one night. It’s an old building but you can see how they’ve made the best of that. Great facilities in the rooms. Parking was easy and close to hotel. Warm and cosy. Shower was hot but need to change the shower head. Bit of a draft with the old windows but the heavy curtains and large radiator kept the room nice and warm. A mirror at the dressing table would be nice but I was happy sitting by the fabulous wall to ceiling mirror to dry my hair. We loved our stay and would definitely return. Thank you.

Rm 27 was a bit tired needs renovation. Especially the bathroom. It’s a long walk to the room surely the lighting and decoration might make the journey more pleasant Still no EV charging , forcing me to stop in Cardiff or Newport. Stops that I should not need to do.

Lovely hotel with parking behind the hotel ( parking spaces on the high street are at a premium). Friendly and helpful staff, well appointed rooms and restaurants with a good choice of food. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Relaxing weekend

Another fantastic stay at the Bear. Lovely spacious room, clean and very comfortable. Lunch choice great and really tasty. Staff at reception and bar so friendly, helpful. Very prompt service. We will be back highly recommend.

For a large Hotel I always feel snug.

EV charging. This really would make a difference. Cowbridge Cow market charging is a joke. .

The Bear is well located in the heart of Cowbridge with ample parking. The restuarant and bar were good (and very popular "conservatory" area at its heart (lunch and dinner were busy). Food options walkable nearby. Breakfast across road in Penny Farthings - very good. The room was small but gave good night's sleep, being quiet. Some minor issues with room (blinds, lights, washbasin design), but overall this was a very good stay. Have been before and will use again

Overnight family stay

We stayed for 1 night. Staff and hotel were excellent, the kids bed was a bit small and uncomfortable for a 10 year old but the overalll stay was great and food was lovely in the restaurant. We didn’t get to try breakfast unfortunately as we had to leave at 7.30am and breakfast didn’t start till 8am
