The Space:
The spacious, newly renovated apartment has a light and airy kitchen and dining area, with the four-person dining table tucked into the large bay window, giving you the most scenic dinner views while enjoying a post-beach meal. Within the same space, the kitchen, which comprises calm white units, a pine worktop and cool blue tiling, reflects the nautical feel of the views outside. It is fully equipped with everything you need, such as a kettle, toaster, microwave, 60/40 fridge-freezer, electric oven with hobs, and washing machine with dryer. The sink unit looks out over the waves, with a fully integrated dishwasher below. Freshly ground coffee is provided - enjoy a cup of coffee whilst gazing out to sea on your relaxing break.
The lounge area has an armchair and comfortable sofa, which doubles up as a sofa bed for the little ones. This is a lovely area to relax after your seaside adventures and is a quiet spot in the building for sleepy children. It also has a 32” high-definition TV and Bluetooth speaker for entertainment, as well as Ottoman storage. If you want to stay connected during your break, we have dedicated Wifi through the apartment.
The large bedroom with a double bed, bedside table with lamp, wall mirror, ample storage, and large windows, has views over the neighbouring bowls club! This property is perfectly suited for two adults or small families with young children, with a fold-out sofa bed in the lounge. Despite being central to Barry Island and close to all amenities and attractions, this property provides a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind after a busy day on the coast.
A fresh, modern family bathroom has a WC, wash hand basin, electric heaters, and shower over the bath near the entrance to the property, flooded with light from the overhead skylight.
This property doesn’t have a garden, but being so close to the golden crescent of Whitmore bay beach, which is literally across the road, you certainly won’t want to be anywhere else! A few steps off the sand and you’re back in the apartment, making this property perfect for days spent on the beach.
This property benefits from having private access parking, something rare in this bustling town. The private gated car park is situated through silver gates where your No 10 parking space is allocated, and you enter the building through the white door in the car park.

The Neighborhood:
Barry Island is a vibrant, attractive seaside resort known for bucket and spade holidays and fantastic sandy beaches. The bright lights of Barry Island Pleasure Park can be an exciting allure, while the colourful Victorian beach huts are a reminder of bygone British summers. In fact, if you’re after a taste of days gone by, then a trip to Barry Tourist Railway, where you can ride on historic diesel locomotives and steam engines, is a must.
A trip to Barry isn’t about rushing about though - there are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby for relaxing swims, picnics, and hours sunbathing with a good book. While Whitmore Bay is the main stretch and is handy for grabbing lunches in the nearby fish and chip shops, nearby Jackson’s Bay is much more relaxing. With fewer visitors to this smaller pretty beach, you’ll need to head around the headland towards Cardiff, beyond Nell’s Point. It’s more secluded for a tranquil afternoon, but do note that there are no lifeguards if you’re intending on taking your children.
If you’d like a bit of outdoor adventure between your relaxing, then head to Cold Knap Bay, where you’ll be able to try a spot of windsurfing and kitesurfing. The bump and jump tides flow over the pounded, underwater sandbanks to provide the perfect conditions for these popular watersports. These crevices in the golden sands, warmed by the summer sun and enclosed by fingers of rock jutting out around the beach, can also provide perfect conditions for sea fishing.
As well as the Wales Coast Path, which winds its way around Barry in a beautiful 4-mile stretch, you might like a leafy walk through Knap Lake and Gardens, where you can picnic in peace while watching the swans bob on the small lake. Nearby, 220 acres of meadowland sits below a large, Victorian viaduct at Porthkerry Country Park.
If you’ve decided to leave the cooking to someone else while on your relaxing seaside break, then you’ve got plenty of choices. Finnegan’s Fish Bar serves lovely fresh fish and chips, while Whitmore & Jackson serve Welsh, contemporary food and are well-known for their fantastic Welsh afternoon tea. And the dessert is sorted as Cadwaladers, just downstairs from the apartment, serves ice cream, hot and cold drinks, and delicious sundaes.
