Gli Ulivi is an attractive family villa offering panoramic terraces, fabulous gardens, and total privacy. A long private driveway winds gently down towards the house, where your first impressions will be of flourishing flora, well-tended lawns and the inviting turquoise waters of the pool. Inside, the house is comfortably furnished, spacious and a pleasure to come back to after a day on sandy beaches at nearby Capo d’Orlando and San Gregorio.
Inside: accommodation at Gli Ulivi is spread over two floors. From the pool terrace large French windows lead into the ground floor and a spacious and luminous living and dining area with vaulted beamed ceilings, comfy sofas, a pool-view dining table and a fireplace.
The remaining ground floor accommodation comprises a well-equipped kitchen, a double room, a twin bedroom and a shared bathroom with a shower and tub.
A flight of stairs takes one down to the lower ground floor, through a study and sitting area to a double room and a double-twin room and two shower rooms. All lower floor bedrooms have direct access to a shady outside living area and garden.
Outside: the large perfumed garden is immersed in several hectares of wooded countryside, and extends around the house and over several levels.
It offers a pleasing variety of sitting and dining areas, the most popular being right by the glorious pool, large lawned areas and many a panoramic terrace. Views take in Capo D'Orlando down below, the Tyrrhenian Sea and the shimmering outlines of the Aeolian Islands on the horizon.
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
Gli Ulivi is situated in the lower hills of the north coast, overlooking Capo D'Orlando and its long sandy beach. Just a couple of kilometres east along the coast is the fabulous beach of San Gregorio, a delightful setting with views of the Aeolian Islands.
In the summer months, Capo d'Orlando's tourist port offers a good range of boats to rent and organised boat trips to the Aeolian Islands.
Behind the house, the Nebrodi Mountains rise majestically. They are home to dozens of age-old villages, fantastic scenery, great walking opportunities and some superb restaurants.
Along the coast to the east is the Sanctuary and Greek and Roman remains at Tindari - highly recommended, while to the west lies the lovely Mediaeval town of Cefalu.
Also very easily accomplished are day trips to Mount Etna and Taormina , which is a little over 1 hour's drive away.
