The room itself was acceptable but felt tired, with squeaky floors. Staff were generally not very friendly, with a few exceptions. However, the main issue was far more serious. We placed cash in the room safe during our stay. Upon leaving the hotel and reviewing our funds later, we discovered that a significant portion was missing. As we only realized this after departure, we did not have the opportunity to involve local authorities at the time. Regardless of how it occurred, this experience completely undermined our trust and overshadowed everything else about the stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Taj. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, which made exploring so easy. The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent throughout our visit. I made use of the spa and truly enjoyed the treatment, which was deeply relaxing and a real highlight. A lovely touch was the friendship bracelets on arrival. I still have mine and it is such a special reminder of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My stay at the Taj Cape Town exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved my room. The bed was comfortable, every shower was invigorating and the bath tub was heaven. The staff take this hotel to an entirely different level. They are attentive, knowledgeable and funny. Primrose, in the restaurant, gave me a food hack/recommendation that changed how I will order breakfast from now on! I need to also call out Siba and Martha from the front desk. Siba was just an all around great help and Martha helped me resolve an issue that had nothing to do with the hotel. She gave me so much calm and saved the start of my trip in a way that made me so grateful. The whole time, i truly felt that her goal was to make certain that i was ok. Bravo!

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and could not do enough to make the stay as pleasurable as possible. Room was amazing with Table Mountain View being superb. The room was spacious, light and comfortable and a nice gift for our anniversary. Food in the hotel was amazing with huge portions and the Indian Restaurant being a particular highlight - a huge thank you to Taariq Koopman, the fantastic concierge for arranging cable car visit and other top advice
