Our state was very nice. The only thing that I can comment on is the coffee supplies and the tea supplies could’ve been replenished the second day other than that the day was very nice.

Location is perfect, quiet,safe, beautiful neighborhood with walk ability if you prefer not to drive.Accommodations were clean and lovely. Plenty of available onsite parking. Pier house food was delicious, all staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

Although NJ was in a state of emergency due to a nor’easter, the staff at La Mer refused to refund or reschedule our booking. They told us to get on the road and come there as planned, despite the fact that when we stayed there a few years ago the entire hotel and restaurant lost power for hours during a similar storm. I guess business hasn’t been going great for them if they really needed our $$$ deposit. We were loyal customers and spent time there every summer until now. Not anymore.

La Mer refused to reschedule our one-night trip in Oct 2025 despite an ongoing state of emergency in the area due to a nor’easter. Customer service was rude and unhelpful. We called a few days ahead of the storm to allow for rebooking. Expedia agent also tried to work with them, but they really wanted those $200 so their answer was that we should just drive there during the state of emergency and hope that the nor’easter was a false alarm. We happened to be staying at La Mer in the fall of 2023 when there was a storm and the entire hotel and restaurant lost power for hours. They claimed that it never happens for the hotel to lose power until I told them we were there when it did happen a couple of years ago. We were loyal customers to La Mer for years and recommended it to lots of people, but after this experience in Oct 2025 we are not going to return there. What kind of people insist that we get on the road to drive there in the middle of a storm and a state of emergency situation?! I guess business isn’t going great for them if they’re pushing so hard to keep our $200 deposit. I can see why they might not have a lot of customers these days. Oh well. We’re not risking our safety on the road for this. Sad to be witness to such greed and lack of consideration.

Place was clean, staff were certainly friendly and helpful, however this is not a room with a view of the beach or ocean. We booked the room because it said a partial view, and I think that was overstated. You could barely see a very small bit of the ocean between the bushes on the sand dune.
