VILLA CORTINELLA

This property is a semi-detached house on two levels (I live in the other half but nothing is shared: house, garden and pool are completely private and independent), less than a 10-minute drive from Lucca historical walls.

Located in a quiet and strategic position to visit all the attractions in northern Tuscany, it is surrounded by olive trees, vineyards and other plants.

The house, the garden and the IN-GROUND 10-meters-long swimming pool are rented a group at a time: only you will use them!

This is one of the few properties in the area with air-conditioning in all the bedrooms.

Giacomo was a great host who was there to well is to the property when we arrived. He was on hand if we needed anything and bought us fresh fruit from his garden several times which was delicious. The villa had everything we needed and the pool was great. Location wise, it was a 10 minute car journey to Lucca which we visited several times. There are several restaurants close to the villa including Eva which did amazing ice creams. We really enjoyed our time in Tuscany and the villa.

Lose to Lucca

The home truly has that feel of what an Italian villa is like. The 3 bedrooms were really large and the two upstairs both had private baths. The living space inside was limited, but most of the time we were off exploring anyway. The yard was nice with lots of fruit trees. The pool was beautiful and the host kept it very clean. Onsite parking was a plus. Our host Giacomo was very quick to respond and went out of his way to help us out with whatever we asked. He delivered fresh fruit to us picked from his yard next door. The instructions for appliances and recycling were all very clear and his recommendations for restaurants were great! He actually owns a Restaurant right down the road that we went to 3 times! Best pizza and even gluten free pizza of any we had in Italy! Pilato Pinsa Birra e Gelato, you must try it! The location is good if you plan to spend time in Lucca. It’s only an hour from Florence and about an hour+ from Cinque terre, another must see area.

Great location for visiting Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Vinci to name just a few. Host very helpful and his itinerary guidebook was best we have ever seen, lots great ideas of places to visit with useful information about where best to park etc. Good sized pool in beautiful garden.

Love this place!

Great location, close to Lucca but not inside the city so it's quiet! Short 15 min taxi. Beautiful property! Host has a great pizza, beer and gelato place near by, called Pilato, that's excellent! Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Lucca! Host treated us like family! Grazie mille Giacomo!!

Fantastic family holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Tuscany. The property was a perfect location to explore the area. We flew into Pisa and hired a car for the week. Giacomo has prepared an excellent guide with day trip itineraries which we used to visit the delights of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, the coast and surrounding hillside. The villa gave my family - wife, two teenage sons and 11 year old daughter - ideal surroundings to relax in between trips out. Lovely pool, nice garden, table tennis and good local amenities. Would highly recommend, thank you!

Great family home away from home!!

Staying at Giacomo’s was everything we had hoped for. Perfect family home with lots of space, quiet, close to amenities, easy to navigate around area. Giacomo was an incredible host, bringing by fresh fruit from the garden, checking-in to see if everything was going alright, responded quickly to any questions. He even went out of his way to pay a parking ticket we got, very friendly and would highly recommend staying in his home!

Fabulous Villa - Perfect for relaxation and fun!

My husband, two grown up children and partners went away for a long week. The criteria was three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool and to have peace, relaxation and fun! This villa was perfect in every way. Our Host Giacomo could not have been more helpful. He met us when we got to the Villa, showed us around, was at the other end of the phone if we needed him. Organised a wine tour that was fabulous and provided us with fresh lemons, some home made liquer and biscotti biscuits to accompany them. We would highly recommend this villa. It is a short walk away from restaurants, Osterias and bars yet remaining in a quiet relaxing area of Marlia. Everyone enjoyed it and we would love to come again at some point in the future. Thank you Giacomo for making our stay so welcoming!

Nice base for exploring Tuscany

Our host, Giacomo was incredibly helpful - arranging vineyard visits, taxis and recommending events on in the local area in case we fancied them. His list of things to do/see was great too, we visited several of the places mentioned and suggested parking spots etc were useful. He also left us some lovely homegrown tomatoes and wine from near Florence which were much appreciated (and swiftly devoured!). The villa is almost exactly much as pictured, though I think the kitchen has been updated slightly since the photos were taken. The location is great for visiting surrounding areas, we made it to Lucca, Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence in our short stay. It's also within walking distance of a few restaurants and shops if you don't feel like cooking/driving. There can be a bit of noise from the surrounding roads, but largely it's very peaceful. The villa is well equipped, minus a few basics that we overlooked during our shop (eg bits for doing the washing up). The only thing we would change is maybe having air con in all of the bedrooms as the August heat is something else! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area.

My family had a wonderful holiday in Capannori. This is the perfect location to enjoy Tuscany.

Villa Cortinella was perfect for my family of five. We loved its traditional Truscan decor and were very impressed by the standard of cleanliness. The large pool, surrounded by a beautiful garden of lemon trees and grapevines was a bonus. But above all, Giacomo, as host, was so attentive to all our needs that we felt Villa Cortinella to be a home from home. Our memories of beautiful Tuscany will be treasured for many years.

Our family of 7 had a lovely holiday at Giacomo's house. Each room is very big and there are some facilities for a baby, such as: baby cot, high chair and baby bath tube. Giacomo is very friendly and helpful. We can definitely recommend this place.

Family-Friendly Gem in Capannori – Perfect for Exploring Lucca and Tuscany (June 2025 Stay)

We stayed at this beautiful property in Capannori in June 2025 as a family of five — two adults and three children aged 10 to 14. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and very functional for a family holiday.The children loved having their own room upstairs. We spent countless hours by the pool, which was a highlight of our stay (it seemed to magically clean itself overnight ). The garden area and outdoor seating made it easy to relax and enjoy meals outside.Although the owner lives next door, we never felt our privacy was compromised. In fact, it was reassuring to know they were nearby if there was any problems.The location was perfect for exploring the Lucca region, yet peaceful and quiet in the evenings. We highly recommend! We would definitely love to return!What We Did During Our Week (A Car was essential)Lucca : Strolling through charming streets, shopping, visiting Palazzo Pfanner and its lovely garden. Tip! Park Mazzini inside the city walls was very convenient.Montecarlo village & fortress: Beautiful views and a charming atmosphere.Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre: Scenic but very crowded and hot. Quercianella: Swimming and snorkling, lovely stone beaches. Shopping: Trip to Centro Commerciale Montecatini Beaches: Viareggio and Pietrasanta. Note! Beaches are full of private beach clubs (our group 30-50/day). Also public beaches here and there.

Logement propre, bien situé pour visiter la Toscane. Piscine agréable. Il y a un manque de confort général pour 6 personnes. Cuisine + salon + salle à manger = 20m². Un canapé pour 2 personnes, électro-ménagers de piètre qualité. 5 assiettes plat principal, 5 verres à eau, 2 casseroles (nous en avons demandé et reçu des supplémentaires), télé de seulement 60 cm, pas de four, pas d'aspirateur, petit lave-vaisselle (45 cm de large, 5 verres à vin. Seulement 2 chaises-longues et un relax à la piscine. Table pour manger dehors éloignée de 50 mètres de la maison.

Giacomo ist ein perfekter Gastgeber. Die Villa ist sehr gut ausgestattet und der Poolbereich ist sehr schön gelegen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Giacomo hat sich um alle Anfragen gekümmert und uns eine sehr tolle Weinprobe besorgt. Er gab uns immer wieder Tipps per WhatsApp. Sehr sehr schön. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Urlaub im Ferienhaus

Ein ganz tolles Haus mit viel Platz. Jedes Zimmer hat ein eigenes Bad. Grosser Küchenbereich. Schöner langer Pool ideal zum Schwimmen oder einfach nur planschen. Für Kinder spitze, da großer Gartenbereichund nicht einsehbar. Der Besitzer sehr, sehr freundlich, nett und hilfsbereit. Absolut zu empfehlen. Nach Lucca einige Minuten mit dem Auto. Wir haben uns mit unserer Familie sehr wohl gefühlt und uns super erholt.
