There is no doubt that the views from the main level porch are fantastic...could be even better with a few trees trimmed at the back of the property. This is a spacious house and seems to sleep at least 12, but most of the beds are bunks. This is great if you have a couple families with kids, but if you are looking for at least a Queen size bed to share and some privacy there is only one bed like that in the main bedroom on the main level, and that mattress needs to be updated. The spa tub in that master bedroom wasn’t very clean and it doubled as a shower. I’m 6’1” and its got to be a 3 foot climb out of that tub. If you aren’t athletic, it would be hard to get out of. The drain was very slow which likely caused the uncleanliness of the tub. The toilet had a sewage smell to it. The carpet in that master bedroom looks like it was original from the 70’s and is in great need of replacing. The slider screen on the master bedroom to the porch had the frame fall apart. Bill was aware of this and tried to give instructions for fixing, but I got the screen to stay closed and just didn’t use it for our stay. In the summer that slider would have to stay open with the screen shut or you would not be able to sleep. There is no A/C in house but we were lucky and only had an issue the first night with warm temps. The remainder of the 10 days had warm weather but a combination of breezes and cool temps at night didn’t make lack ofA/C an issue, but all windows and sliders had to be open to keep cool. You are at the top of a mountain that dead ends, so it is very quiet up there...except for the birds early morning seemingly in the bedroom, just have earplugs.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The gas stove top needed to have its burners cleaned out, but it worked. The only issue in kitchen was dishwasher. It seemed to run just didn’t work well. Not sure if it was just its old age or maybe hard water. The dining table was huge and perfect for hosting a large group of people, though we were only 4. The outside deck right of dining and kitchen was the best part with plentiful seating and a picnic table.
The downstairs section of the house looked like a seperate apartment. It had its own smaller kitchen ,dining and living area. It was in better shape with the carpet though, one of the toilet innards was rusted out.
WiFi worked. Didn’t use TVs, plethora of DVD movies available, pool table, fireplace, nor the club passes.
