Check in isn’t until 3pm they charge £10 per hour to check in early, we have two infants and had requested two travel cots, I rang before booking to see if this was possible and told yes and emailed 3 weeks before to check again told both times absolutely. We were attending a wedding that day so couldn’t check in until 10pm and then messed about as only one travel cot was provided. The team didn’t seem to understand that we literally had nowhere for our son to sleep, he ended up having to go on the sofa pulled against the bed. Shambles if you ask me as if they couldn’t provide it we could’ve brought our own, for the price I think it was a joke - no compensation not even an apology breakfast which is £18.95 PP!

Thieving Hotel

Hotels.com app crashed and booked the current day and not the future day I'd requested. Novotel say they 'couldn't help' and effectively 'stole' my money by refusing to move the date to my original requested date nor work with Hotels.com to help resolve the issue. They argue they can't discuss 3rd Party bookings - but then refuse to discuss with the 3rd party - in this case Hotels.com.

Clean and modern - convenient for Cambridge

A good stay at the Cambridge Novotel North - lovely newly furnished and clean room, nice staff, very close to bus stops for the 15 minute bus ride into Cambridge. The "wellness center" was a bit too family friendly for us, but appreciate it was a weekend.

The hotel is modern and clean. Express check-in online beforehand didn't speed up the process. The pool and sauna are cool and can be very busy and only accessible with a separate key from reception which is valid for an hour. Don't expect to do laps if your a swimmer it is only about 10m.The gym had modern equipment and a good size for a hotel. The double sofa bed in the family room is small and reduces the space considerably, more suited to under 9s if they need to share. The bathroom had a multi angle door that blocked off the shower or toilet but didn't go to the ceiling, it was also was sligjtly mirrored and see through. The bedding was also not as soft/worn which was a shame. The car park is shared with the railway station which are both next-door to the hotel. Head for the carpark and walk through the arch to the hotel as there is no drop off at the entrance. Conveniently there ia a coop convnence shop opposite the hotel. Park and ride 5m drive away which gives access to the city centre without the 15m walk from the station. Convenient and okay for a couple of nights.
