Masseria San Biagio is a tranquil oasis in the heart of Salento. Surrounded by woods and olive groves, this contemporary residence has been created in a traditional style. This Junior Suite sleeps 4 - 6 and makes the perfect base for friends or a family looking for a relaxing break in this lovely part of Puglia.

The spacious, ground-floor suite has an independent entrance off the central courtyard. The entrance leads directly into the living room which is furnished with a sofa, dining table and chairs, a mini fridge and a flat-screen TV.

Masseria San Biagio’s gardens and outside spaces have been created with as much care and attention as the interiors. Guests can enjoy breakfast outside, with honey from the bees on the estate and homemade marmalade. The owners have laid out different paths around the grounds, which range from the scents path through aromatic herbs and flowers; to the historical path which leads to the chapel of San Biagio which is over 1000 years old and the fitness path for more energetic guests.

The large swimming pool is surrounded by an extensive terrace, furnished with sun loungers, umbrellas and seating areas. It makes the ideal spot to relax in the sun after a refreshing dip. There is also a massage and well-being centre on site where guests can have a soothing massage or other treatments.

Location
If you can tear yourself away from the tranquil gardens then the historic centre of Calimera is just a 5-minute drive. The town is known for its traditional white houses as well as palaces and beautiful churches. Calimera’s weekly market takes place on Thursday and is the best place to pick up the freshest local delicacies and experience authentic Puglian life.

Salento’s most beautiful beaches are all within easy reach. The beaches at Otranto (25 minutes), Porto Cesareo (45 minutes) and Gallipoli (45 minutes) are known for their pristine sea and shallow waters, ideal for younger children and snorkelling.

Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (20 minutes) or for more exercise and a hike through unspoilt Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine (25 minutes).

The closest airport is at Brindisi - just 55 minutes away by car.
