Villa Alegria by Atlantic Holiday

Villa Alegria by Atlantic Holiday offers a relaxing stay on Madeira’s southwest coast, in Estreito da Calheta. Ideal for families, couples, or friends, the house accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms: two with queen-size beds and one with two single beds.



Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower, and there is also a separate toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, hob, cutlery, plates, and utensils, everything you need for cooking at home. A washing machine and a hairdryer are also available.



The house includes air conditioning/heating, a Smart TV with box, and is family-friendly with a baby cot and high chair. Bed linen and towels are provided.



Outdoors, you’ll find a private area for parking two cars and a terrace with a heated pool.



The City Hall charges a local Tourist Tax per guest per night. The charge amounts:



- 2EUR per night;

- This rate applies up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights and does not apply to guests that are under 13 years old.

- This charge must be paid directly to us so we can deliver it to the City Hall.



We’ll provide all the necessary details, including the Tourist Tax payment, a few days before check-in.

Villa Alegria by Atlantic Holiday - Great Customer Service

I liked the location and the view. The metal blinds to the exterior of the Villa was damaged from previous tenants. Because of this we could not access the pool from the master suite or have the ocean view. This issue was not communicated with use prior to arriving. The second issue was again in the master suite. The dial to adjust the shower temperature was broken. We were eventually able to figure it out, but again there was not any communication of this issue prior to arrival. The third issue was the electric gate broke while we were there essentially trapping us in the Villa. Thankfully we were able to arrange a taxi so we could go to dinner in town, but had that happen on the last day, we would have missed our flight. Only after this issue did Atlantic Holiday make us aware the gate could be open manually, but it requires a lot of effort to do so. When trying to contact Atlantic Holiday they were not responsive outside of business hours. I eventually found a different number on their website and was able to get someone to respond. After these issues I requested a partial refund to which I got no response. I at least expect a response even if the communication means no refund would be given. Overall I would not recommend working with Atlantic Holiday as the service was the worst I have ever experienced.
