It is very popular with locals for walking, jogging, cycle pathways, exercise equipment at various locations along the length of grassy, well- maintained lawns. The expansive parks and gardens are beautiful. There is a concrete pathway along the beach. The southern end of the Esplanade has many bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as a world-class casino with restaurants (and is adjacent to the main shopping centre) Here you will find plenty of tour booking agents for a big range of reef, rainforest, tablelands tours, scenic flights, fishing trips, balloon flights, and other speciality tours. The Cairns Beach is for swimming. Please use the pool at the complex or the free huge lagoon infinity pool at the southern end of the esplanade which has it own beach and lifesavers. Gas Barbeques, ice creams shops, night markets and cafes nearby. Further along, the southern end of the Esplanade is the Marina, from where local charter, fishing charters and daily tour vessels to the reef operate and in the river mouth is the Port for national and international cruise ships.
