Casa Nido Colibri

Here, the day begins with howler monkeys and ends with the lamp lit on the terrace. In between, the jungle, the sea, and nothing to do.

Nido Colibrí is a designer home in Cocles, surrounded by tropical forest and a garden, a twenty-minute walk from Playa Cocles, the most famous surf beach in the southern Caribbean region of Costa Rica, and a fifteen-minute drive from the restaurants, markets, and music of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.

On the outside, a green hipped roof that blends in with the trees. Inside, high wooden ceilings over a black framework, floor-to-ceiling windows, rattan lamps, and light-colored floors that stay cool. Two suites with king-size beds and air conditioning, two full bathrooms with showers, and a sofa bed for a fifth person.
