Imagine relaxing on the panoramic terrace at Agriturismo Il Poggio delle Favole, coffee in hand, gazing at Mount Catria as the scent of lavender drifts up from the fields. This authentic retreat in the Marche region is just 3 km from Cagli and minutes from Frontone Castle—perfect for exploring the Frasassi Caves, UNESCO-listed Urbino, the Furlo Gorge, and the medieval villages of the valley.
The farmhouse dates back to the 19th century. Here, the owner’s great-grandfather raised cattle, and the original, carefully restored mangers are still visible—silent witnesses to a genuine family history passed down through generations.
The farm is lively and authentic: colorful egg-laying hens, beehives for artisan honey, lavender, saffron, olive trees, and seasonal vegetables. We produce lavender water and essential oil; saffron is hand-picked. Guests can purchase fresh eggs, honey, lavender water and oil, and seasonal vegetables.
Nearby: CAI hiking trails, the church of Santo Stefano with views of Frontone Castle, the Bosso and Burano rivers for summer swims, and local festivals from spring to autumn (Festa della Pipa, Palio dell’Oca, Truffle Festival).
The Olivia Room features a king-size bed and a single bed, private bathroom with shower, WC, bidet, and sink, independent entrance, and minibar. The panoramic terrace with table, armchair, and small lion-shaped fountain is perfect for enjoying sunsets over the countryside and Mount Catria. In the rose cottage: gas stove, traditional wood oven, and barbecue. There is a pond with goldfish, frogs, and water lilies, plus free parking and Wi-Fi.
Bed linen and towels are available for an extra fee. An authentic, elegant experience for those seeking the true spirit of the Marche.
