This house was a great deal and the interior is very nicely renovated and decorated. It's also a great price. A few things to know that I think would be helpful to potential renters:
1) The common areas aren't very big. There's a screened in porch upstairs but the main living/dining area is what you see in the picture. There were 7 of us (adults) and I think that's really the max (6 would actually be ideal). Only seating for about 5 in the living room proper and the kitchen is pretty small so it was tough sometimes to churn out meals for that many people (and I'm a professional cook!).
2) Bring EVERYTHING! And I mean everything. Dish towels, hand towels, dish soap, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, salt, pepper, wood for the fire pit. The rental agreement says this, but I've never been somewhere where there was literally so little already at the house. On the plus side, there was plenty of gas for the grill.
3) The lake is a bit of a walk from the house up and down this slightly rocky pathway. It's not far but the dock and lake are def not right there. This created some separation among our party when some people wanted to swim and others wanted to hang out on the deck. That being said there is a picnic table by the dock.
4) We tried to go to Bushkill Falls and I guess we just didn't research it enough. It was absolutely PACKED and cost something like 16 dollars per person to get in (I don't think that includes the map either), so plan accordingly.
These aren't necessarily cons, just thought it would be good for others to know. Pluses are definitely the price, the interior of the house, the shallowness of the lake (don't dive!) making it easy for everyone to get in the water no matter their swimming ability, the a/c and fans in every room where there wasn't a/c keeping things very comfy, the large grill, and the fire pit with the adirondack chairs.
