When the staff claim they speak no English when they did the day before you know it’s a problem. Despite appearances this is one of yhe worst hotels i have ever been to, and i have been to over 1009.
Location was excellent. Subway is just round the corner. BIFF, food, shopping, markets are just around the corner. Staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping upon request. Bring your own toothbrush. Bed is comfortable. Room size was good for 2. Can open luggage.
This is a hotel shared with other hotels, so the next door could be a room for a different hotel. Anyway, it's located in a lively block in Nampodong that has those outdoor vendors with food (pojang macha). About two minutes walk to bypung (kangtong) market, and two minutes walk to jagalchi station, so it's in a super convenient location.
The lobby is located on the third floor and the front staffs are very friendly. The room is very clean as well with a water purifier in the room.
You can also leave your luggage in the lobby.
The only thing is that the hotel building is not located in a major street, and there are pojangmachas near the building as well as some really old looking buildings, so the surrounding is not "fancy".

Security cameras are supposed to be there to protect people from physical harm, which of course rarely works. They are not supposed to be used against hotel guests with innocent questions about the country they are visiting. I had just bought a video of Korean semi-nude dancers and asked someone at the reception whether this was legal or common in Korea, since this was a dvd and its cover. Little did i know that the security camera had an image of me and supposedly nude women. Thr charge was that i somehow sexually harassed the women, and the charge was made by the general manager of the hotel, Ms Sun no less. Now someone tell me whether this is a hotel that should ever be entered again by someone like me (male, any male). If there were a way to give a -1 to -5 stars for abysmally bad service I would definitely go into the negatives. They even had the temerity to cancel my 17 day reservation from March 14-April 1 without hearing my side of the story. Why? Because they weren’t interested in it. They just wanted me out and were looking for an excuse. Well, they found a not very good, one that can land them in very hot water and have them shut down as a danger to their customers. You see, sexual harassment is a serious criminal charge in S Korea that could carry a jail sentence. So is falsely accusing one of the same. It’s a pity. Breakfast was fairly terrible but the lobby definitely looks nice. Looks are deceiving!!!
